Take SAT and/or ACT

  • Register at or Register at

Send SAT/ ACT scores to colleges and universities

  • 1. One UC 2. CSU Mentor code 3594 3- 6. To other colleges.

** December is the last ACT or SAT that you may register for, fee waivers available in the college center

Cal State University

Requirements: 2.0 GPA A-Gs, SAT or ACT. No essays or letters of recommendations

Application Deadline: October 1- November 30 Admissions Decisions: Jan- March

Begin and complete application online

Send SAT and ACT scores

Complete EOP application.

Create and check portal after submitting application

Submit Transcripts after 7th semester in January if required (Request from College Center)

Register for EPT/ELM assessment exams no later than May unless exempt.

University of California

Requirements:3.0 GPA  A-Gs, SAT reasoning or ACT, No letters of recommendation (Berkeley only if requested). SAT subject tests recommended.

Deadlines: August 1- November 30 Admissions Decisions: March

Begin and complete application online

Begin and complete Personal Statement (total of 1000 words between both)

Prompt #1: Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

Prompt #2: Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

Take Writing Assessment exam in May unless exempt.

Request Transcript to be sent only if attending this UC

I will not read personal statements without a copy of your extracurricular activity sheet completed on the UC application first. I will not read after during Thanksgiving break.

Private/Independent Colleges DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

Requirements: Vary, but similar to UC requirements

Essays and letters of recommendations maybe required. (See Recommendation Packet)

Deadlines: December to January Admissions Decisions: March- April

Determine what application will be need by university. Most use Common app other may use the universal app or their individual website.

Determine if you will be applying Early action/ decision (October Deadlines) or Regular application.

Requirements: Graduate high school or be older than 18

Appointment with a counselor to complete an individual education plan

Register for courses

Deadlines: No specific deadline. Application is available after January. Priority Registration is given to students completing application process by April.

Financial aid

Get pin number in December

Apply online between January, 1 –March 2

Private schoolsmay require CSS Profile

Apply to scholarships then apply to more.
