Dear Parents,
This year our GT students have successfully been a part of the awesome TNT, The Tomball News Team. Each student has had a different role (reporter, editor, etc.), and they have worked together to film and share information on cool happenings in our school, community, and state. The students have reported on topics from our great school Turkey Trot, sports, recipes, holiday traditions, and many more. This semester our Pre Ap/GT project will be called What’s In the News? We will begin in January and end in May with students showcasing their awesome work at our district GT showcase. Students will research a current event happening in our city, state, or nation. Each student is required to write their own individual research paper and create two visuals to go with it. They may choose to research and create their visuals with a partner or partners, but the research paper MUST be written individually. We will spend time in class learning the researching process, text structure, finding sources, writing our thesis, etc; however, students are expected to spend time outside of class on their project and need to visit the public libraries for information. We look forward to seeing all our students’ fabulous work and ideas! Please feel free to email us with any questions you may have.
