This bi-weekly update contains a status update regarding external hiring, as well as information about the new Applicant Tracking System (ATS), details about this year’s Talent Fair, and reminders about the staffing timeline that we shared. Please read this thoroughly, and reach out to your Human Capital Specialist if you have any questions:

External Hiring

Throughout this year’s recruitment season, the Office of Human Capital has extended early offers in high-needs subject areas and in areas in which we have traditionally hired a substantial number of teachers. Given that we know that a number of principals have already started their own recruitment efforts, and we want to be able to commit to these candidates as early as possible, we are now accepting Recommendation to Hire (RTH) forms from school leaders who have an external candidate identified in one of the following content areas: Elementary, ESOL, Math and Special Education. Make sure that your candidate has completed an application online (we cannot move forward with any candidate who has not completed an application), complete this year’s RTH, and submit to your Human Capital Specialist as soon as possible; our goal is to review these applicants, and begin processing them as quickly as possible.

If you currently have or anticipate a vacancy but do not yet have a candidate identified in one of these content areas, we encourage you to identify a candidate through the Window of Mutual Consent or from our external applicant pool that will be available shortly thereafter.

New Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

The Office of Human Capital is rolling out a new Applicant Tracking System for this year’s staffing season! Not only will this system be more user-friendly for our applicants, but it will allow school leaders and hiring managers to track a candidate throughout the hiring process.

We are working to confirm the training dates, but anticipate offering training to school leaders and hiring managers two days in mid-May; we expect that several of these two-hour sessions will be offered each day, and that you will be able to attend the session that works best for your schedule. We are also working to schedule a make-up day, as well as discerning the feasibility for online training options. Stay tuned for additional information regarding the new ATS!

SY 18-19 Talent Fair

As in past years, the Office of Human Capital will be hosting a Talent Fair that will be held one day during the Window of Mutual Consent. This year’s Talent Fair will be held Monday, May 7th from 5-7pm. Click here for additional details about the fair, and to register! We looking forward to seeing you at this year’s fair.
