297BOARD OF CHIROPRACTIC LICENSURE

Chapter 5:CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT FOR CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANTS AND THE ISSUANCE OF TEMPORARY CERTIFICATES FOR CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANTS.

Summary: This chapter states the requirements for issuance of a certificate to function as a certified chiropractic assistant, and the issuance of a temporary certificate to function as a certified chiropractic assistant.

1.Qualifications for certification. Applicants applying for a certification as a chiropractic assistant qualify as follows:

A.Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age;

B.Must be a high school graduate or have successfully completed an equivalent educational Program;

C.Must have successfully completed a course of study approved by the Board after January 1, 1990, or completed a course of study provided by a chiropractic college accredited by the CCE, or by any other USOE approved national chiropractic accrediting agency; and

D.Must have successfully passed an examination with a minimum score of 75%, which has been offered pursuant to a course of study approved by the Board or by a chiropractic college accredited by the CCE, or by any other USOE approved National Chiropractic Accrediting Agencies; or

E.Must have been employed as an assistant for a minimum of three (3) years immediately prior to the enactment of this statute, submit valid proof of such employment, and met the requirements of A and B.

2.Qualifications for temporary certification. Applicants applying for a temporary certificate as a chiropractic assistant must qualify as follows:

A.Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age;

B.Must be a high school graduate or successfully completed an equivalent educational Program;

C.Must document continuous enrollment in a Board approved course of study;

D.A temporary certificate may be renewed for a maximum of two (2) bienniums; and

E.Once the requirements for certification as a chiropractic assistant have been met, the temporary certificate becomes invalid. The applicant must notify the Board of successful completion of the examination and change of status, and submit payment of the biennial renewal fee.

3.Applications must be filed with the Board. Incomplete applications will be returned for completion.

4.Application forms or supporting documents that have been altered, defaced or compromised will not be accepted.
