Description GE Medical Systems is involved in the manufacturing of medical equipments and installation of the same at various client sites in America, Asia and Europe. For GEMS, to know the medical equipments installed, their performance and to analyze the productivity measures, few analysis tools were developed. DFR – Design for Reliability is a tool developed to identify certain measures like MFR, IFR and RIS. This tool helps in reducing Engineers time spent compiling & analyzing data for monthly reporting of DFR Metrics (Mission Failure Rate, Infantile Failure Rate, and Repetitive Issues). It also provides faster correlation of DFR Metrics with Service cost data to identify high benefit productivity opportunities. SPAT – Service Productivity Tools Analysis was an existing tool, which was used basically to analyze measures like Labor Cost, FE Cost, Travel Cost and Hours, Install & Warranty Credits. This tool was enhanced to be used globally. Additional measures and reporting features were added to make the tool effective.
