About the person you will work with / I’mseeking a PA to assist my daughter (aged 25) to access social activities in the city centre. You will promote her independence and support her to participate in activities she currently enjoys and encourage her to develop new interests.
Summary of Duties / Duties will include:
- Taking my daughter out for usual social activities such as shopping, swimming, listening to music.
- Occasionally providing prompts for personal care and assisting with toileting if required. (This post won’t include any assisting with showering/bathing.)
The person I am looking for / You must be reliable, very patient and communicate clearly and be committed to encouraging a person’s independence.
Experience of working with people who have disabilities is essential. Experience of people with reduced mobility and who use a wheelchair would be desirable. (My daughter uses a manual wheelchair but can assist with transfers.)
Having a good sense of humour and the ability to make life fun is essential.
Hourly rate of pay (gross) / Mon – Sun £9.55per hour.
Expenses (if applicable)will be paid every 4 weeks at cost,upon provision of a receipt.
Weekly hours / I’m looking for a PA who can offer regular support on two days per week, for 4 hrs per day (ideally Monday and Friday) between the hours 10.30am to 2.30pm.
A degree of flexibility is possible depending on your availability and may be required if particular activities don’t fall on normal working days and at normal start/finish times.
Additional information / A DBS check will be required for this position.
