Rubric for final paper. Point of view position paper.
a)If you attending Discovery High School, Challenger Early College or taking English I Honors then you must do seven to nine pages. Your last page will be your cited sources. You need a minimum of 5 cited sources. Regular English I students have 5 pages and your sixth page will be your cited sources.
b)This paper you need to insert a header and have your header on every single page throughout the paper.
c)Your header is single spaced. The body of your paper is double spaced, Times New Roman, 12” font. Your last page will be your cited sources. These need to be on a separate sheet as your final page. You do not need any graphics, charts, etc… however, if you do need to reference a chart or data, you may link it in the body of your paper as a hyper-link.
d)Various topics to debate, present, argue, etc…
- Should college athletes be paid like professional athletes?
- What are the pros and cons of medical marijuana and should medical marijuana be approved in North Carolina for VA veterans?
- Should airline pilots per permitted to carry firearms in the cockpit?
- Physician Assisted Suicide: Should it be an option?
- How has racism/discrimination change over in the past ten years in society?
- Should student loan forgiveness programs be in place for doctors who work in high risk fields? (HIV/AIDS patients, patients of outbreak medical risk: i.e. emboli scare two years ago?)
- How can the NFL improve their public perception of athletes who have been arrested/convicted for domestic violence crimes?
- Debate the pros and cons of public education vs school choice, Charter Schools or school voucher programs.
- Should community college be free to children of public/state employees?
- If you do not select one of these topics see me and I will help you come up with a topic.
