Hinckley Ladies Netball A team lost 26-37 to local rivals Griff and Coton A. The game started evenly; Hinckley finding their rhythm and demonstrating some great movement to take the ball down the court. However, the opposition pulled away in the second quarter and maintained this lead for the rest of the match despitea tactical change at half time to the team line-up. Player of the match was awarded to defender, Kate Chamberlain.

Hinckley B played Henley D at home this week. Another tight affair mirroring the first encounter back in December. After ending the first quarter 3 goals behind, Hinckley settled and began the take the upper hand going 2 ahead at half time. Hinckley showed great movement down court despite Henley’s good defence and scored some excellent goals. The third quarter was very evenly matched but Hinckley retained their 2 goal advantage. However in the last quarter despite the relentless efforts of the Hinckley defence, Henley managed to catch up and steal the game by a single goal, 23-24 at the final whistle. Player of the match was GK Jo Oakes.

The C team went into their match with the knowledge that there was only one point between themselves and their rivals, Leamington in the league. They went positively into the first quarter, however they didn't anticipate the 6' 2" shooter. With overhead balls going straight into the circle, the first quarter ended with Hinckley four goals down. With renewed tactics, the defensive trio worked hard to double mark the shooter and keep the goal attack out of the circle. At the other end of the court Lucy Marsden was on fire with her shooting and Leanne Evans, playing up from the D slotted into the attack with ease. Hinckley entered the final quarter with fight and determination. They did not give up until the final whistle and the game ended in a draw, 31-31. Player of the match was Bec Kenney for her defensive fight.
