PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Cleaner reports direct to the Section Manager, EVS. He/she is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the Kings Bush Site. He/she will ensure cleaning standards throughout the siteto meet those agreed and/or documented in the individual team service level agreements.

Although reporting to theSection Manager, EVS he/she will be required to work most of his/her time on their own initiative, often out of hours, with little direct direction or supervision.

KEY OBJECTIVES:

1.Cleaning Standards

The Cleaner will ensure through the use of his/her ability that agreed cleaning standards are achieved throughout the week in all KBF locations. He/she will ensure agree standards with the Section Manager, EVS and ensure compliance.

2.Team Managership

The Section Manager, EVS will be the first point of contact for the Cleaner in respect of all cleaning related issues as well as to agree / authorise absence.

3.Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

The Cleaner will ensure through the use of his/her ability that agreed cleaning standards are achieved throughout the week in all KBF locations. He/she will ensure agree standards with the Section Manager, EVS and ensure compliance.

4.Maintenance of Equipment

The incumbent will ensure all equipment is suitable and safe to use prior to use and ensure that any faults are reported without delay to the Section Manager, EVS

5.Meetings and Information

He/she will be required to attend meetings as requested by the Section Manager, EVS or by any Senior WGAS management.

DETAILED DUTY REQUIREMENTS:

He/she will be assigned an area of responsibility for cleaning. It is the cleaner’s responsibility to ensure all surfaces are free from grit, dirt, grease and gum. The cleaner will be supplied with all materials and cleaning products to ensure this requirement is met.

The Cleaner will ensure that areas of responsibility are cleaned within the detailed time allocation and to the required standard.

He/she will ensure toilet areas are kept well stocked with toilet rolls, soap etc and will monitor and report any cleanliness issues.

The incumbent will report any faults in equipment ensuring all cleaning equipment is kept clean and in good condition, especially ensuring that vacuum cleaners are emptied after use. It is also important that the cleaner wears the appropriate uniform and footwear when carrying out his / her duties.

It is important that the cleaner plays a part in the performance of the cleaning team as a whole and therefore, communication and support are key to ensure a team response to all cleaning challenges.

Whilst undertaking duties, the he / she will come into contact with members of the public whilst carrying out his / her duties. It is important that the cleaner reflects a positive image and acts professionally and courteously in any such contacts.

The shelter is open to the public Monday to Sunday 10:00 hours to 16:00 hours, although on event days (mostly Saturdays and Sundays) the site may have external visitors on site anywhere between 06:00 hours to 01:00 hours depending on the event. The cleaner will therefore need flexibility in his / her approach to cleaning duties and the hours required to ensure standards are achieved.
