Minimum Qualifications:

• Possession of a valid driver’s license, and one of the following: o Education equivalent to completion of 2 years of college with a minimum of 10 semester hours in biological or chemistry sciences, OR o One year of experience in surveying, studying, or evaluating fish or wildlife populations or habitat, or working in a chemistry laboratory.

Duties: Under the supervision of the Bay Delta Region Fish and Wildlife Interpreter III (Interpretive Services Supervisor) and direct lead of the Fishing in the City (FIC) Coordinator, this position will research, develop, and create defined interpretive projects for use in the FIC and/or Classroom Aquarium Education Program (CAEP) programs to promote public understanding of fishery resource management. Position will create interpretive materials for print and electronic distribution. Potential projects may include:

1. Update online fishing guide to lakes in the urban San Francisco Bay Area. 2. Complete Virtual Fishing clinic. 3. Mapping for CAEP release sites with photos that identify ideal release locations. This will identify approved lakes and rivers with information on specific release locations. 4. Creation of post-clinic recreation/interpretive activities (e.g., lawn fishing, art etc.) for adults and children at learn-to-fish events. 5. Creation of a virtual community where teachers can share thoughts, ideas, and issues related to CAEP. 6. Development of tank set-up guide in PowerPoint or video to assist teachers in tank with initial tank set-up.

Desired Knowledge and Abilities:

• Application of practices of natural resource interpretation • Self-motivated, organized, and able to keep accurate records • Ability to use social media, organize information, write copy, locate photographs, design websites, create publications • Background experience with natural resource interpretation or science/wildlife education • Experience working with website, social media, publication design
