Xavier played Seymour a few times to date, and the first meeting was very memorable for Xavier fans... as the Hawks defeated Seymour in a D2 Sectional championship to earn a spot in the 2009 WIAA State Tournament. That game on Saturday 3-14-09 before a packed house at the Brown County Arena in Green Bay ended a 19-0 run by Seymour in previous WIAA tourney games at that site, and it enabled XHS to advance to the WIAA State Tournament for the first time ever in hoops. That trip to State, played at the Kohl Center in Madison, was the 24th in XHS history of Boys BB... after tradition-rich Xavier danced 23 times at State Boys Basketball in a 40 year period, all with the private schools field. (Since then, Xavier played at the Kohl Center in 2015 and 2016, finishing 2nd each time.)
