Michele Cahill is the Director of the Notre Dame Club of Chicago. In this role, she oversees the day to day functions of the largest alumni club in the nation, oversees the formation and management of numerous volunteer committees, manages club weekly and special events and serves as liaison to the club board of directors and trustees of the Notre Dame Club of Chicago Scholarship Foundation. Prior to joining the Notre Dame Club of Chicago in 2009, Michele served as Director of External Relations at Saint Agnes of Bohemia Catholic School in Little Village. Michele is a 2007 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish. She also has a masters in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. Michele and her husband, Matt, also a 2007 graduate of Notre Dame, reside in Chicago and enjoy exploring the latest culinary trends in the city and around the world.
Carol Cera has been an Attorney with theIllinois Department of Human Rights since 2007, handling employment-related cases. Prior to that, she was an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, and served as a judicial law clerk for two Illinois Appellate Court Justices. In addition to being a lawyer, she has an accounting background and was a Senior Auditor with Coopers & Lybrand. She has a JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Joyce Duriga, has served as Editor of the Catholic New World, the official newspaper for the Archdiocese of Chicago since 2007. She also serves as administrator of Katolik, the archdiocese's Polish language monthly newspaper and oversees content on www.catholicnewworld.com and www.katolik.com. She writes and edits, as well asdesigns the pages for a circulation of nearly 100,000 every two weeks. Prior to coming to Chicago she was Associate Editor of Our Sunday Visitor, a national Catholic newsweekly. Prior to that she worked for the Diocese of Pittsburgh, PA, in her home town. Joyce has a degree in Journalism from Penn State. Although her jobkeeps her VERY busy, in her spare time, you might find her practicing for a marathon. She recently made a trip to Nigeria to see firsthand and to bring us the story about the partnership between our Office of Catholic Schools and the Diocese of Nsukka, Nigeria, that gives so many hope. John Spitkovsky, Chief Technology Officer and Partner is one of the founders ofMS Consulting Services, Inc.,a 16 year-old, Chicago-based Enterprise-class IT Consulting firm specializing in Senior-level IT Infrastructures. (http://www.mscsinc.com) In his current role, you can find him doing IT sales, operations, project management, and even customer deliverables. Prior to MS Consulting Services, John worked in Systems Administration for companies like Arrow Electronics, Harris Bank and Rockwell International. John holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Outside of his corporate responsibilities, John is active in St. John of the Cross Parish in Western Springs, sits on two non-profit boards, and is the Cubmaster for his local Scout Pack. He likes to spend his free time with his wife of 15 years and two children.
David A. Steiger,has taught, written and spoken on the global economy and various legal topics since 1999. As a member of the Adjunct Faculty at DePaul University’s School for New Learning, he has engaged adult learners with his provocative yet pragmatic point of view, in settings as diverse as the International Bank of Asia in Hong Kong and St. Gabriel’s College in Bangkok, Thailand. He has also served as a moderator for a series of panel discussions on issues in globalization, featuring current and retired Ambassadors to the United Nations. A sought after speaker, Steiger has addressed audiences ranging from the California State Bar Association and Minnesota International Business Law Institute to the International Roundtable at the University of Chicago’s Graham School of Business and Notre Dame Law School.
He is the author of “The Globalized Lawyer: Secrets to Managing Outsourcing, Joint Ventures and other Cross-Border Transactions,”http://theglobalizedlawyer.com/wordpress/ and has logged tens of thousands of miles to visit outsourcing centers in India, meet with in-house legal staff in Singapore and develop guanxi with Chinese-based business insiders. Steiger has pulled together an impressive roster of experts that offer a truly global perspective on doing business overseas. He has contributed to the Chicago Tribune and appeared on the nationally syndicated Chicago Public Radio program Worldview.
Steiger holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Juris Doctor from Indiana University. A licensed attorney for nearly two decades, he lives serves as in-house counsel for CNA Insurancein Chicago, Illinois.
