PLEASE BRING YOUR CELL PHONE ON EVERY TRIP (emergencies/pictures)

1)3 days before trip, Captain checks emails and online calendar to verify times and contact information. Contact mates to confirm.

2)Check weatherforecast the night before trip and again 1.5 hoursbefore trip to decide on weather concerns/safety. If cancelling,the Captain notifies the organization’s contact person and the mates. NotifyHannah Haegele at with the cancellation reason.

3)Arrive at departure point 30 minutes prior tolaunch. Allow for parking time.

4)MUST COMPLETE MASTER CHECKLIST.

5)Put up Biminis if necessary. Maintain a strict time schedule.

6)If severe weather approaches while on the water, go to Johanna Shores immediately and seek shelter.

7)EVERYONE MUST WEAR A LIFE JACKET AT ALL TIMES. If you had to go into the water for a rescue mission, you must have a life jacket on.

8)Guests must put on the life jackets before walking onto the dock. Escort and assist guests as they walk out on the dock to the pontoon. Make guests as comfortable as possible.

9)Collect RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM AT THE BEGINNING OF TRIP. If any guest has not filled one out, have them do so. Extra copies are in the waterproof document box on board.

10)Introduce yourselves and talk about the mission of Fishing For Fun.

11)Pass out water to anyone who would like some on the trip.

12)Take pictures on all trips (horizontal is best). Every fish may be a "trophy" to someone. Email photos toDoug Oliver andthey will be used for display on our website.

13)Hand out Donation Envelopes to our guests or staff person, who may turn them into you or mail them in.

14)After trip, escort and assist guests from the pontoon to the shore with life jackets on. Remove life jackets.

15)Tidy up boat for next trip. Review the MASTER CHECKLIST FOR EVERY TRIP.

16)Complete the Trip Report.

17)File (1) Release of Liability Form (2) Trip Report Form, and (3) any Donations received to the waterproof document box in the life jacket storage box.

EMERGENCY

1)Call 911 and have emergency vehicles meet at the Tony Schmidt public dock.

2)If someone is injured while involved with a Fishing trip, please complete the Injury Report and contact Julie Overbye Ledy at 651-398-1393.

FISHING

1)When fishing, observe all state fishing regulations and practice "CATCH AND RELEASE." Make every effort to see that everyone has an equal opportunity to catch fish. Our primary goal is to show our guests a good time. Catching fish is secondary.

2)A wood cutting board is available for cutting bait on fishing trips.

3) Take a tour of the lake if time permits and point out landmarks (a laminated sheet with information on the lake is
available in the waterproof box).

Accurate reporting is important. Donations are appreciated.
