Checklist of Match Manager’s Duties for Home Teams
Before Game:
Ensure all rooms (including umpires) are clean.
Ensure match footballs are given to umpires –approved ‘Match’ balls as supplied.
Ensure ground line marking is complete – Friday call to Ground Manager.
Ensure stretcher (Jordan Frame) on hand.
Ensure goal post padding is in place.
Ensure correct Club names are on scoreboard.
Have emergency siren on standby.
Team sheets to be filled out and handed to umpires.
Check umpires rooms, scoreboard and coaches boxes are open and ready for game.
Check interchange steward has arrived and has appropriate documentation.
Check to ensure trainers have arrived
Invite opposition players and officials to attend after match function (if held).
Ensure players valuables and security of rooms is in order.
Ensure Timekeepers are in place.
Ensure hot water service is on for showering (all change rooms).
Ensure drinks are provided to umpires.
Ensure team sheets are available for distribution to State U/16 Staff and AFL Tasmania personnel as requested.
During Game:
Ensure drinks are provided for umpires at all breaks (use Coke containers etc.)
Ensure ice is available.
Ensure security of rooms at all times.
Ensure spare football available if lost over the fence.
After Game:
Liase with Timekeepers to get the all clear or otherwise from the umpires.
Ensure umpires are invited to the after match function (if held).
Collect home ground match footballs.
Check umpires regarding reported players – inform players and Executive Officer.
Make arrangements for reported players and advocates to attend tribunals.
Ensure all details i.e. Best Players, Goalkickers and Results are sent to STJFL and Sportingpulse web site.
Ensure rooms are cleaned at completion of game.
Return keys of rooms and ensure all rooms are secure
