CSO bringsThe Snowman to Umstattd Hall

CANTON, OHIO (December 1, 2017) – Come enjoy a truly unique holiday experience with the Canton Symphony Orchestra for their 2017 Holiday Pops concert, December 17 at 3:00pm atUmstattd Performing Arts Hall, 2331 17th Street NW. Come enjoy a multimedia experience combining the orchestra with some of everyone’s favorite holiday movies, and after intermission enjoy our ever popular sing along! The Snowmanis originally a children'spicture bookwithout words by English authorRaymond Briggs, first published in 1978 byin the United Kingdom, and published in the United States later that year. The book became a family favorite,depictinga magical experience when a child’s just-built snowman comes to life and takes the child on the adventure of a lifetime. In 1982 this book was turned into a short length feature with full orchestral score, and became an instant hit across the world.

For this year’s Holiday Pops concert, the CSO brings the big screen out to perform the orchestra score of The Snowman with the hit film playing side-by-side. Audience members will enjoy a live performance of not only The Snowman soundtrack, but also scenes from other holiday hits such as Home Alone, Frozen, and other popular holiday songs. After the CSO finished up with the big screen, they’ll invite the audience to sing along with all of your favorite holiday songs for an afternoon of cheer and mirth!

Tickets for the concert are $20, $25 and $30 and can be purchased online at by phone at 330-452-2094, at the Zimmermann Symphony Center – 2331 17th Street NW in Canton – weekdays from 9am to 5pm or at the Umstattd Performing Arts Hall box office beginning90 minutes before the concert.
