CONDITIONS AND METHOD OF PLAY

MIXED AMBROSE CHAMPIONSHIP.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY.

To be read in conjunction with Association By Laws

ENTRY FEE:ADVERTISED AMOUNT TO BE PAID ON THE DAY OF PLAY.

The event is open to male and female amateur golfers who are full playing, provisional playing, country or junior members of Clubs affiliated with the Hunter River District Golf Association Incorporated.

  1. Each Team will select a Captain, before commencing play.
  1. Two (2) signatures are required on each completed score card, before it is handed in.
  1. Teams consist of 2 male and 2 female players. Each individual player's name and handicap MUST be shown on the score card. The team handicap will be one eighth (1/8) of the combined handicap of the 4 players.

Handicaps adjusted on the day relative the slope rating of the course being played.

  1. Preferred lies, within one (1) Club length, no nearer the hole, are permitted through the green. The ball may be cleaned.
  1. Ties, for all trophies, will be decided by Count-back, as defined in the Golf Australia Handbook.

METHOD OF PLAY.

The following "Special Rules", so far as they are not at variance with the Rules of Golf, will apply:

  1. The players tee off, in order decided by the Captain.
  1. The captain selects the ball to be played and each Team member plays a stroke from within one (1) Club length of where this ball lies, no nearer the hole, with a preferred lie. The position of the chosen ball to be marked on the spot. The same procedure will be followed on subsequent strokes until the ball is on the putting green.
  1. On the putting green, all putts are to be played from a spot within 15 centimetres (approx. 6 inches) of where the selected ball lies, no nearer the hole. Should a putt miss the hole and lie adjacent, within a few centimetres, it may be tapped in, to save time, and the remaining putts may then be played from the original position.
  1. IN THE AMBROSECHAMPIONSHIP THE TEE SHOT OF EACH PLAYER MUST BE USED AT LEAST THREE (3) TIMES OVER THE 18 HOLES.THE CARD IS TO BE MARKED INDICATING WHOSE TEE SHOT WAS USED ON EACH HOLE UNTIL ALL PLAYERS HAVE USED A MINIMUM OF THREE(3)TEE SHOTS.

Please make decisions on which ball to play as quickly as possible and keep up with the group in front.
