Furnish control switch and cover plate for each electric motor operated backstop.

Furnish keypad control switch and control panels for control of electric motor operated backstops as follows:

Provide (1)key switch control system and related panel for control of the (2)electric operated forward folding backstops.

Provide (1)key switch control system and related panel for control of the (2)electric operated forward folding backstops and the (1)electric operated rear folding backstop.

Provide supports, bracing, fastenings, and fittings for a complete, rigid, and safe installation, including members necessary to mount motor and winch as applicable to Project.

SUBMITTALS

General Requirements: Provide submittals in accordance with Section 013300, unless otherwise indicated.

Shop Drawings: Indicate proper layout of backstops with dimensions. Include methods of anchorage. Show supporting member materials, sizes, finishes and locations.

Product Data:

General: Provide manufacturer’s Product Data, including description of product and specifications.

Wiring Diagram: Furnish wiring diagram which clearly indicates Project site wiring requirements.

Contract Closeout Submittals: Submit in accordance with Section 017700.

Provide manufacturer’s operation and maintenance manuals which include instructions for proper use, safety, care, maintenance, and who to contact for service and parts.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Requirements of Regulatory Agencies: Provide basketball equipment which meets official standards.

Fabrication: Provide the following as required by application requirements:

Wall Pads: Southern yellow pine, nominal 2inches by 6inches, edges chamfered and finished with (2)coats of clear, naturalgloss lacquer.

Main Support Frame:

Support backboard system by (4) steel pipes or tubes which anchor to wall mounted wood pads by heavy welded fittings.

Reinforce frame with steel tension flats or tubes secured with steel clamps and stiffened at intersection with bolted steel fittings.

Provide vertical support consisting of weldedlink chains, with turnbuckles for adjustment, and related fastening systems.

Anchorage system shall not be exposed on opposite side of supporting wall.

Finish: Finish members of backstop framing, including support and attachment components with manufacturer’s standard factory applied flat black enamel.

WALL MOUNTED SIDE FOLDING BACKSTOP

Provide internal web braces when recommended by backstop manufacturer as determined by attachment height. Secure main center strut and side sway braces to a structural steel channel to form a fully welded rigid frame assembly.

Backstop Assembly Support: Steel beam/pipe superstructure designed and fabricated by backstop manufacturer which is anchored to roof framing members by means of heavy formed steel support fittings.

Front Brace Assembly: 23/8inch outside diameter steel tube with an adjustable folding knee joint which locks in place when backstop is in playing position and disengages by means of a cable/pulley hoist system.

Suspension: Suspend backstop frame from assembly support system using adjustable hangers.

Rear Brace Assembly: Minimum 23/8inch outside diameter steel tube with a jackknifing rear hinge joint which locks in place when backstop is in playing position, and disengages by means of a cable pulley hoist system.

Center Strut Frame Assembly: 65/8inch outside diameter heavy wall structural steel tube center strut (or Owner approved equal), with 23/8inch outside diameter structural pipe back/rear diagonal brace and 17/8inch outside diameter steel tubing internal web braces. Secure center strut and back/rear brace to a 31/2inch outside diameter heavy wall structural steel tube to form a rigid frame assembly.

Backstop Assembly Support: Steel beam/pipe superstructure designed and fabricated by backstop manufacturer which is anchored to roof framing members by means of heavy formed steel support fittings.

Side Folding Brace Assembly: 23/8inch outside diameter steel tube with an adjustable folding knee joint which locks in place when backstop is in playing position and disengages by means of a cable pulley hoist system.

Description:

Rectangular shaped 72inches by 42inches by 1/2inch thick tempered glass with brushed aluminum frame and with white paint border and target area markings permanently fired in.
