Housing

Students may choose to arrange for a housethrough International Internships LLC or independently. All housing costs are in addition to Program Fees. Prices are subject to change. A security deposit of $300 is required.

Universidad Nacional Internship Descriptions:
INT352 Internship for Medical Personnel. Prerequisite: SPN212 and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship provides a fieldwork experience in a Latin American healthcare setting. It serves as a means to help career students to achieve immediate ability to function in Spanish and allows the student to explore cultural similarities and differences affecting communication and intercultural competencies for interaction between Latino groups or individuals.
INT353 Internship in Social Work.Prerequisite: SPN 212 or equivalent and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship provides a supervised work opportunity within a Mexican social agency, private or public, in areas pertinent to the student’s interests. The experience helps the students to understand ethnic and cultural variables in Latin – American ethnic groups and how these factors influence social work practice.
INT354 Internship in Business and Economics. Prerequisite: SPN 212 or equivalent and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship serves as a means forbusiness and economics career professionals to achieve immediate ability to function in Spanish. It provides supervised experience in a Mexican business environment. It also serves as a tool to review and improve conversational skills and to master the technical Spanish vocabulary necessary to function successfully in the field.


INT355 Internship in Education. Prerequisite: SPN 212 or equivalent and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship provides an opportunity for observation and teaching in selected private and public Mexican schools and colleges under the supervision of a classroom teacher and University supervisor. This experience helps participants to gain a better understanding of culturally diverse students and families. (Please Note: internships in Education are not available during the months of June, July, and August due to the fact that local schools are not in session at that time.)
INT356 Internship in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Prerequisite: SPN 212 or equivalent and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship serves as a means for hotel and restaurants management students to achieve an immediate ability to function in Spanish. It provides supervised experience in a Mexican hotel or restaurant environment. The experience also serves as a tool to review and improve conversational skills ant to master the technical Spanish vocabulary necessary for the student’s career.
INT357 Internship in Mexican Criminal Justice.Prerequisite: SPN 212 or equivalent and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship enables the student to learn the basic operations of a Mexican criminal justice agency ant to understand the history and sociology of a Mexican culture, the Mexican criminal justice system and Mexican criminal law.
INT358 Internship in Political Science. Prerequisite: SPN 212 or equivalent and courses at the 300 level related to the student's career goal. This internship will give students the opportunity of being in contact with legislative state work, political parties, and social organizations. Students will be exposed and will be able to document their experiences by witnessing and interviewing participants in the lobbying process, social movements, and bureaucratic structure.

INT358 ECOLOGY
It enables students to interact with specialists in the field, at the same time broaden and enrich their vocabulary. Offers the opportunity to get professional experience through new ideas and projects.
INT359 ANTHROPOLOGY
Allows students entering the workforce in Mexican society and culture. It will cooperate to carry out activities that will show details of the everyday life, the community, and environment, providing experience and memories; while it performs widely in the use of the Spanish language and customs of the host country.
INT360 SPORTS
It enables students to participate as trainers or co-instructors in the various sports.
INT361 MUSIC AND ARTS
Allows students to participate in different cultural areas. The goal is to know the music and arts of the region and exchange international knowledge all through art, as well as increasing vocabulary
INT361 COMMUNICATION
Allows the student to develop experience in the mass media: television, radio, film, journalism. Students will acquire technical vocabulary and get knowledge of the workings of the media in Mexico and in the state.
