PROFESSIONAL TRANSPORT OWNER-OPERATOR

Job Purpose:

Under the Confreight Corporation’s CVOR, owner/operators will transport Con-Cast Pipe precast products to our customer sites safely and on schedule.He/she will ensure customer service commitments and targets are achieved, while always protecting the integrity and security of the customer’s product.

Specific Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Pick up, transport and deliver goods in compliance with all legislation
  • Ensure the delivery of customer products on the designated time and date with all delivery documents needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of product and trailer assigned for shipment, immediately reporting any identified safety infractions.
  • Correctly secure load in advance of transport.
  • Communicates with Logistics to ensure on time pick-up and delivery schedules.
  • Advises Logistics immediately when conditions change and an assigned load cannot be picked up or delivered on schedule.
  • Completes all paperwork (i.e. Bill of Lading, RMAs, etc.) as required
  • Support Company image by maintaining a professional and courteous manner with customers and staff.
  • Maintains a clean driving record and up to date personal license. Provides current abstract upon request.
  • Immediately and completely report any driver safety and compliance infractions (both on the job & in a personal vehicle) tominimize any risk to the Confreight’s CVOR standing.
  • Follows safe work practices, including bending, lifting and carrying procedures and slip, trip and fall prevention.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Traits Required for the Job:

  • Must own a MOT certified truck, licensed to 63,500 kgs
  • Must possess and maintain a valid AZ license
  • Will require a 0-8 tonne boom certification
  • Must provide a current CVOR abstract
  • Must provide a current driver abstract
  • Must possess valid insurance
  • Must be able to manage their own transport business
  • A focused customer satisfaction approach in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent personal organizational skills and professional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Free of any criminal record in which a Pardon has not been issued.

Working Environment:

  • Delivery schedules from 6 am through 6 pm
  • Physical activities will consist of prolonged periods of sitting in or driving truck
  • Subject to all seasonal elements
  • Climbing up and down trailers to secure load with chains
  • Seasonal road conditions and congestion
