Ruby: Hey, kids! What brings ya to the soda shop today?

Kenna: Hi, Ruby. We’re here for some Christmas cheer.

Ruby: Well, you’ve come to the right place. What can I do for ya? Hot Chocolate? Peppermint float? Marshmallow malt?

Nathalie: Actually, we’d like to hear some music.

McLaine: Yeah, Christmas is just a few days away and we’re ready to celebrate.

Nathalie: Bring on those holiday hits. We wanna party!

Ruby: Of course, you’re hear for the jingle bell jukebox.

Kenna: That’s right. And we each brought a quarter along, so we’re ready to go.

Ruby: Well, okay then. Who wants to go first?

Students: (ad lib.) Me! Pick me! I’ll go first!

Ruby: Alright, let’s start with McLaine.

McLaine: Great! I know the perfect song to play!

Ruby: What is it?

McLaine: It’s about everyone’s favorite snowman…….

Students: (unison)Frosty!

(McLaine puts a quarter into the jukebox.)

Ruby: My goodness! You kids sure know how to shake it.

Brooke: Can I pick one now, Ruby?

Ruby: Sure ya can. What did ya have in mind?

Brooke: I dunno. I can’t decide.

Macie: “Silver Bells!”

Brooke: Nah, too slow.

Tori: “Twelve Days of Christmas?”

Brooke: Too long.

McLaine: How about “Deck the Hall?”

Brooke: Too many fa-la-la’s.

Tori: I know what the next song should be!

Macie: Me, too!

McLaine: It’s obvious….”Jingle Bells.”

Macie: No, “Jingle Bell Rock.”

Tori: But, it’s the jingle bell jukebox.

Macie: Exactly, (singing) Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock….

Tori: (interrupts, singing)Dashing through the snow, in a on-horse open…..

Ruby: Hold your horses, kids. Why don’t we put’em together?

Tori/Macie: Huh?

Ruby: Sure, it’s right there. Press D-25!

(Macie puts a quarter into the jukebox.)

Ruby: Look kids, it’s snowin’ outside.

Daniel : Cool. Maybe we’ll have a snow day tomorrow!

Tori : (acting cool) Oh, that would be awesome!

Brooke: I hope it snows all day!

Daniel: If it snows all day, we might not make it home.

Tori: Then I guess we’d have to stay right here.

Brooke: I’m ok with that! Let it snow!

Ruby: Hey, I think there’s a song like that on the jukebox.

(Brooke puts a quarter into the jukebox)

Macie: I like that song!

Jackson: Me, too. Are there any other fun songs?

Ruby: Well, do you have a special request?

Kenna: Nothing too sappy.

Macie: Or jolly.

Jackson: And nothing with mistletoe

Daniel: Or golden rings, either.

Ruby: Bah humbug, Scrooge!

Macie: What’s left then?

Kenna: I have an idea.

Jackson: Well, don’t keep us in suspense. Give us a hint.

Kenna: Okay, “Every Who down in Who-ville like Christmas a lot, but the Grinch who lived just north of Who-ville…..

Students: Did NOT! (laughs, ad lib)

(Kenna puts a quarter into the jukebox)

Ruby: It’s really snowin’ out there now, kids. You know what that means……

Natalie: We can build a snowman!

Billy : We can go sledding!

Ellie: Snowball fight!

Alyssa: Let’s make angels in the snow!

Ruby: I was thinkin’ we need to shovel the sidewalk, but those things sound like a lot more fun.

Madison: You know what’s really fun? Riding in a sleigh.

Natalie: Like with a horse?

Madison: Uh-huh.

Billy: Sounds cool!

Madison: Actually, it’s cold. Freezing cold.

Ruby: I bet you really have to bundle up to keep warm.

Madison: You do, but it’s awesome with the wind blowing in your face, and the sleigh bells jingling.

Ellie: Hey, that should be our next song!

Alyssa: Comin’ right up!

(Alyssa puts a quarter into the jukebox.)

Madeline: That was fun!

Billy: I’m really getting’ in the holiday spirit now.

Christina: Me, too! Can you believe Christmas is almost here?

Alyssa: And Santa’s on his way!

Ruby: (teasing) Too bad all of you kids’ll be on the naughty list.

Students: (ad lib) Hey! What do you mean? Not me.

Christina: I’ve been an angel all year.

Billy: I got straight A’s

Griffin: And I only got grounded three times!

Ruby: Well that’s an improvement, isn’t it!

Alyssa: Okay, who wants to sing some Santa songs?

Students: (ad lib) I do! Sure. Me! Let’s do it.

Ruby: What do you have in mind?

Alyssa: How about “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas?”

Billy: “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town!”

Griffin: I like “Up on the Housetop.”

Christina: Well, let’s do’em all!

(Billy puts a quarter into the jukebox.)

Ruby: It’s just about closin’ time kids.

Students: (ad lib) Aw. Already? Really?

Ruby: I don’t know about all of you, but I had a terrific time today.

Students: (ad lib) Yeah. Me, too. I had a blast!

Griffin: It was really fun to do the hand jive.

Ellie: And bust out some Santa songs.

Madeline: I loved rockin’ out to “Jingle Bells.”

Christina: And singing about winter stuff, too.

Madison: I think even the Grinch had a good time!

(students laugh)

Ruby: Sounds like you kids got the holiday cheer you came in for!

Griffin: You bet.

Madeline: How about you, Ruby?

Ruby: Of course! Thanks to you, kids, I’ve got more cheer in my heart than marshmallows in my famous hot chocolate.
