Staff Appreciation Day Procedure

(by Sr. Director Marilyn Schmucker)

This is an idea from Cindy Machado, a top director in the Pamela Shaw area. First I sent out a letter to places either I do business with or where I know the owner/manager. Within the week, do a follow up call and schedule the time. Only send as many letters in a week as you can follow up on. It’s a fabulous way to get WARM names. Everybody loves you for coming and treating them and you build a relationship and those interested in your service will book with you! Remember that you are there that day to get names and look at the survey cards to see who is interested in your service. I promised the employer I would not push my product on anyone and they have welcomed me with open arms!

NOTE FROM DIRECTOR CINDY SHUTE: Pick a demographic area where you would like to grow your employee support services and future customer base. You could join a chamber in that area, find business’s to partner with that will allow you to leave a facial box, or even check the yellow pages. I have actually cold called business’s and have built on going relationships regarding health fairs, image seminars and FUTURE HOLIDAY EXECUTIVE GIFT SALES!

Supplies Needed:

·  Skin Care Surveys – at least one for each employee

·  Pens

·  Look Books – these are only if they ask for them (many will want one)

·  Wrapped Travel Size Hand Cream or Spa Lotion with your business card and a piece of candy

·  Business Cards

·  Satin Hands to Demo – may also need towels to dry hands

·  Wrapped gift to give away – Travel Size Satin Hands with candy and additional samples such as Timewise and possibly a Look Card, Look Book, Business Card and candy

Optional: Any type of body lotion (I brought the Velocity Shimmery Lotion) and Mint Bliss Energizing Foot & Leg Treatment. You may also bring one or two gift ideas for the employer to purchase as holiday/special occasions for staff. A facial box would be one other item they may allow you to put out. I also had a couple of hostess packets with me to explain IF someone asked me. Be prepared.

Procedure:

1)  Arrive a few minutes early to set up near a sink.

2)  When employee arrives tell them welcome to Staff Appreciation Day and this day is to honor you. Your employer appreciates the work you do and today you’ll get to feel like you took a visit to a Spa to relax for a while.

3)  Give them gift wrapped travel size lotion from their employer

4)  Treat them to Satin Hands

5)  Offer any extras like body lotions or leg treatment

6)  Ask if they like to win a prize? Show the prize you’ll be giving away to one lucky employee

7)  Have her complete skin care survey if desires an entry to win prize

8)  After all staff has been pampered, do drawing for prize

9)  Begin following up with those who checked they’d like a facial or class. I offer them $15 free if they will do a before and after picture for our model contest. (Of course only to those who don’t have a consultant) They will book!

Dear

Do you ever feel that you’d like to do something to honor your staff and make them feel appreciated but it’s not really in your budget? It would be a privilege to serve your staff for the great service they have show me as a patient of Dr. Brownstone. I am a Sales Director with Mary Kay and would love to share 3 quick ideas on services I can offer you.

1)  I offer a STAFF APPRECIATION DAY where I come in to “pamper” your staff without disrupting your work environment. I can be set up in a conference room or kitchen, wherever I am out of the way and they can pop in for 5 minutes while I give them a special hand treatment and a little gift. It’s like a little visit to the Spa to lift their day! You have my word that I will not try to sell them anything or make them feel uncomfortable in any way! It will be just for fun for them. What’s in it for me is that I get to meet these women and share my product with them. IF they would like to schedule a facial or purchase anything they can fill out a card to indicate their interest. I will do a giveaway drawing before I leave. Everyone loves feeling appreciated and it’s a great way to give them something that costs you nothing.

2)  Do you purchase a Christmas gift for your staff? If so, do you have difficulty in deciding what to give? I do offer a gift service to make it simple and easy for you. I have gift ideas from $10-$300 and your gifts will be hand-wrapped and merchandised to look fantastic! I even have gifts for men. Occasionally you may not need this service from a professional standpoint but could benefit from assistance that is quick and convenient with your personal shopping for any occasion.

3)  One last idea that can honor your staff as well as your clients is a “facial box”. I purchase a gift certificate from you for $10 and both your staff and clients can sign up to win the certificate from your business, and also to win a free makeover with a $10 Mary Kay Certificate. This is great because those who are interested sign up and those who aren’t don’t. It gives me an opportunity to promote your business as help me expand my customer base.

I hope you can see that these services can be a win/win for both of us. It’s a privilege to assist you in any way possible. Feel free to contact me at 309/662-8742 or visit my website at www.marykay.com/mschmucker. When you call me by 9/10 you’ll receive a gift just for your call. Thanks for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Cindy Shute
