  3. Paula Allotta – GRC Catalysis, June 22-27, received 6/2/08 - Approved
  4. Staci Wegener – as yet not inducted – she passed her qualifier but has not yet been inducted. Her travel date is set to June 22, 2008.

Vote: Should we accept Staci’s application?

1 abstain, 8 vote NO. She has not been inducted, therefore, she is denied the travel grant.

-She passed her qualifier last Fall and asked to become part of PLU. We decided to allow people to become part of PLU ONCE they pass their qualifier, so we will retroactively allow Dana to be part of PLU once she pays her dues and fills out a membership card – she will be inducted this June.

Unaninimous approval(Yes) but only if she fills out membership card and pays.

c. Issues with the process? – Clearly we need to discuss the selection process but only change 1 thing at a time.

Vote: Should we allow 2nd years that have not taken their qualifier participate in the induction ceremony?

- Once the student passes their qualifier, they can become a PLU member by paying dues and filling out membership cards. They do not have to go through the induction ceremony to be part of PLU. They can participate in the next year’s ceremony AND this will be retroactive (in the case of Dana Sauter – the only person in this situation that we know of.)

- Send Dana an email. Secretary has cards and induction invitation.

e. End of the year boat cruise or other event? Get budget for something
