Purpose
The holder of this national certificate is able to demonstrate knowledge and skills relevant to the position of Stable Foreman or Manager within the racing industry. This certificate is designed to prepare the holder for responsibilities accorded with a Stable Management role and for self employment within the equine industry, by being able to demonstrate advanced horse husbandry skills, knowledge of industry specific judicial, handicapping and nomination processes, business administration, employment relationships, communication and computer skills.
This qualification is intended for people with some experience in the equine industry seeking to advance a career in management. All standards in this qualification are compulsory.
This certificate builds on the National Certificate in Equine (Stable Practice) (Level3) with strands in Harness Racing, Sporthorse, Thoroughbred Racing, and Track Riding [Ref:0654], and allows people to develop skills in horse husbandry and racing. However, that qualification is not a prerequisite for this certificate.

This qualification has been replaced by National Certificate in Equine (Stable Management) with strands in Breeding, Harness Racing, and Thoroughbred Racing [Ref: 1541].
