Job Title: HR Advisor
Reporting To: HR Manager Issue 1: August 2017
Job Purpose: To provide professional HR expertise and support to the Inca Management Team and employees on all aspects of employment and related administration.
Principal Responsibilities:1. To work closely with the Management Team at Inca on people-related matters, advising on HR best practice.
2. To take day-to-day ownership for a designated business unit within the organisation, managing all aspects of HR activities, working with Team Leaders and the Management team and escalating complex issues to the HR Manager and/or appropriate Director.
3. To co-ordinate day-to-day HR activities across the whole business in the areas of recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, employee relations, health and well-being.
4. To undertake recruitment activity as agreed with the HR Manager, and in conjunction with other HR team members, devise and provide a professional on-boarding process for all new starters to Inca to ensure they are welcomed, engaged and retained in the business.
5. To own the Apprenticeship Scheme for the business, ensuring that this meets legal requirements and delivers results for the business and the Apprentices.
6. To undertake project work aimed at developing the HR function and maintaining compliance with legislation.
7. To review existing HR policies, practices and processes at Inca and recommend changes to ensure that they add value to the business operations.
8. To provide regular reports and analyses on HR matters to the Senior Management Team and also to the Board of Directors from time to time.
9. To manage and be ‘hands-on’ in all aspect of HR related administration to ensure a consistent approach is applied to all Inca employees and HR Functions.
10. To identify opportunities to improve the HR service taking into account best practice.
11. To ensure that the Staff Consultative Committee (SCC) is run to enable effective representation of the views of employees through this process.
12 To lead by example in the understanding of, and adherence to, the Company’s and Parent Company’s policies, processes and procedures, offering training, advice and guidance as appropriate.

1. Head of HR and HR Manager / 1. Degree level education or equivalent
2. Senior Management Team and Directors / 2. Ideally, a CIPD qualification or part qualified
3. Inca Line Managers / 3. Experienced in practicing HR ideally in a manufacturing company
4. Inca Colleagues / 4. IT skills – Microsoft Office generally, operational knowledge of a HR database/benefits/payroll system is desirable
5. External contacts, e.g. Forums, Recruitment Agencies, Advisors and Professional Bodies. / 5. Knowledge of PAYE and payroll helpful, including procedures for SSP, SMP, SPP, SPL, etc.
