Dear Parents, October 2014
Attached is a permission slip for the first 7th grade field trip taking place on Friday, November 21st. We will be transported by charter buses to the Plain and Fancy Farm in Bird-in Hand, PA. This educational and fun-filled day will includes charter bus transportation, a theater performance, a tour of the vast Amish farmlands, and a visit to a country homestead. The students will learn about traditional Amish practices and be immersed in a rich and significant part of Pennsylvania history.
In order to depart at 7:30 am, we would like the students to arrive at 7:15 am. We will return by 2:30 in time for the buses and normal dismissal. Please have your child at school and ready to go on time. Lunch and snack should be brought in a brown paper bag or lunch bag and should not include any glass bottles or containers. Personal entertainment such as video games, IPods, or the like may NOT be brought on the trip. Cell phones are also NOT permitted. Each chaperone on the trip will have a cell phone if needed.
Please return the permission slip and $45.00 by October 24th to your child’s social studies teacher. Exact cash or checks made out to Valley Forge Middle School will be accepted. However, it is important to note that the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District will not be responsible for monetary deposits lost due to the cancellation of this trip for any reason.
As usual, students should dress appropriately and be reminded of behavioral expectations when they are away from home and school. We are looking forward to an enriching experience.
If you have questions, feel free to contact your child’s social studies teacher. Thank you for your support.
