HOCKEY PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT
2017-18 SVYHC SEASON

I, ______, agree to adhere to the following Code of Conduct for the 2017 – 2018 SVYHC Hockey Season:

  1. I will not swear or use abusive language on the bench, in the rink, or at any team function.
  2. I will display good sportsmanship towards Officials, Coaches and Players, regardless of Team
  3. I understand that the coaching staff will handle all matters pertaining to Game Officials.
  4. If I receive a penalty, I will skate directly to the penalty box.
  5. I understand that fighting will not be tolerated. I also understand that if I am involved in fighting I may have to make an appearance before the Discipline Committee.
  6. I will not use illegal substances at any team function.
  7. I will conduct myself in a befitting manner at all facilities (ice rink, hotel, restaurant, transportation, etc.) during all team functions.
  8. At all times, I will pay attention to the instructions of my coaches. I will not talk when instructions are being given. I will watch the drill demonstrations and will be ready to perform the drill. I will ask questions (when given the opportunity) if I do not understand the drill.
  9. I will not engage in foolish, silly or disruptive behavior while waiting in line for my turn at a drill. I will not hit or touch any player near me with my stick, hand, or any part of my equipment or body. I understand that if I violate this rule that I may be asked to leave the ice.
  10. I will move quickly from one drill station to another, and will do so in a quiet and orderly manner. I will immediately be ready to watch and listen to the coach for new instructions or demonstrations.
  11. I will not ask “Are we playing a game today?” or “When are we playing a game?” or any other form of the same question. Games will be played when the coaching staff makes a decision to do so.
  12. I understand that any player or team official who does not abide by or who violates these rules may be subject to a) immediate removal from the ice/team function and b) possible disciplinary action after a review by the Discipline Committee.
