Dear Classmates, Widows and Friends of ’51:
I hope you’re making plans to return to Amherst for Homecoming the weekend of November 12-14. There is a full schedule of events planned and after the Jeff’s historic undefeated season on the football field last year, the matchup with the Ephs should be particularly exciting. It would be great to see you there as a part of the celebration.
Prior to kickoff at noon, President Marx will give an update on the College at 10 a.m. in Johnson Chapel. Our Class will be sharing a tent with ’49, ’50, ’53 and ’54. Jerry Grant ’54 has once again agreed to bring his amazing chili for all to enjoy. We will also join the surrounding classes for dinner at Valentine on Saturday, November 13. Please let us know your plans by completing the enclosed reply form and returning it along with your check, made out to Amherst Class of 1951, in the enclosed envelope to Sandy Riley.
At halftime, join us at the 50thReunion tent for a sing-along of favorite Amherst songs. Following the game, walk over to the Cage for Homecoming Fest—enjoy complimentary food and drink and music by the student jazz ensemble.
And although it may seem a long time away now, Reunion 2011 will be here before you know it: the dates are May 25-29, 2011. The Class of 1951 will be having a 60thReunion Planning meeting on Saturday, November 13, at 8:30 a.m. in Chapin Hall.
