2014 OSU CSM COMPETITION TEAM / Competition Overview & Team Application

Thank you for taking interest in the OSU CSM Competition Team. This will be the second year Ohio State will compete in this ASC competition. To provide you with a better understanding of what the competition entails, we have included the project overview.

General Note

We are soliciting applications for the open positions available to CSM students. The team (6 members) will travel to Chicago, IL and represent the Construction Systems Management program at The Ohio State University.

Competition Summary

Each year, the ASC competition is centered on a real life construction project and judged by a panel of industry professionals. They include Owners, Developers, Construction Managers and Contractors. Upon arrival to Chicago, the teams will be given the “project” and will be expected to create an estimate, project management plan, and safety plan in a given time period. The teams will also be required to present their findings to a team of judges. This year’s schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

·  Travel to Chicago

·  Team and Faculty Registration - 3PM - 7PM

·  Career Fair - 4PM - 8PM (snack food provided)

·  Welcome Session and Orientation - 8PM - 9PM

Thursday October 16th, 2014

·  ​ RFP's distributed for all problems - 7AM

·  Student Luncheon - 11:30AM - 1PM

·  Student Pizza Dinner - 6PM

·  Competition Submissions Due - 11PM

Friday October 17th, 2014

·  ​Student/Faculty Breakfast - 7AM

·  All Presentation Materials Due - 9AM

·  Competition Presentations - 9AM - 6PM

Saturday October 18th, 2014

·  Awards Banquet and Breakfast - 8AM - 10AM

·  Conference Closes - 10AM

·  Return to Columbus

Team Expectations

The team will be expected to participate in some preparation prior to the trip to Chicago. Team participants are expected to represent The Ohio State University in a positive manner.
