I.  BY THE COMMISSION:

  1. This matter comes before the Commission for con-sideration of the Motion for Protective Order filed by Public Service Company of Colorado. The motion requests entry of a pro-tective order "with extraordinary protection." In particular, the motion requests that the following information be treated as confidential and disclosed only to the Commission, Commission Staff, and the Colorado Office of Consumer Counsel: the identity of customers with which Public Service proposes to enter into special contracts in this docket; the reasons these customers are being offered special contracts; the terms and conditions of the special contracts; and other information labeled "Confidential" in the pleadings and testimony filed in this case. Good cause having been stated, we will grant the motion and allow the above-referenced to be filed under seal with the Commission. Absent further order of the Commission, the above-referenced information will be provided only to the Commission, its Staff, and the Colorado Office of Consumer Counsel.
  2. Consistent with the provisions of § 40-3-104.3(1)(b), C.R.S., we direct that the notice period for the instant application be shortened to five days.

II.  ORDER

  1. The Commission Orders That:
  1. The Motion for Protective Order filed by Public Service Company of Colorado is granted.
  2. The notice period for the present application is hereby shortened to five days.
  3. This order is effective on its Mailed Date.
  4. ADOPTED IN COMMISSIONERS' WEEKLY MEETING September 3, 1997.
