How to Change your Taxes on iVisions Portal
- Log in to the portal using your username and password.
- Hover your mouse over the “Employee Resources” part of the menu bar:
- Click on “Tax Withholding Forms”
- As stated on this screen, you must change your FEDERAL and STATE taxes separately. If you change one, that does not change the other. You need to click on SC Federal W-4 to change your STATE taxes: (NOTE: you will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader to use this feature).
- Read the instructions carefully if you have not filled out this form before. Click “Begin” to start the process. You will see the STATE W-4 form. If you do not know how to complete this form, please contact the Payroll Department at 941-5401 or 941-5408 for assistance:
- You will need to complete the highlighted sections on the form: Your SSN, if you would like to claim Single or Married, Total allowances (exemptions) you are claiming, any additional taxes you want withheld…DO NOT WRITE EXEMPT IN BOX 7 UNLESS YOU SPEAK WITH PAYROLL FIRST!!
- So, if I want to claim married and 1 exemption, I would fill out the form as listed above and then click the Submit button. The following message will display for you to click “ok” or to cancel your request:
- If you click OK, you must then enter the last 4-digits of your SSN to complete and sign the form (you are signing this electronically which is the same, under Federal Law as your signature:
- You have completed the steps for your STATE tax return if you see the following message:
- Now repeat the above steps for your FEDERAL taxes by clicking the “employee tax forms” link at the top of the screen:
It is important that you understand your taxes have been sent to the payroll department for approval at this point. The payroll department is not responsible for making sure your taxes are the proper amount for you, they are simply responsible for uploading your changes to the payroll system.
You must complete your tax changes prior to the payroll processing date (located on the payroll calendar) or they will not take effect until the following payroll run.
