INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE PRE-DIPLOMA/DIPLOMA PROGRAM

STUDENT CONTRACT

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a comprehensive program with a rigorous curriculum designed for the academically able student who has the potential to earn the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Therefore, El Dorado High School requires the following commitment from each of the Pre-Diploma students and Diploma candidates.

I agree to the following terms and conditions for Pre-Diploma or IB Diploma class in which I am enrolled:

  1. I will follow the rules of El Dorado High School as outlined in the Student Handbook._____
  1. I will meet the expectations set forth in each class and pass each class with a minimum of an 80. If I struggle in a class, I understand that it is my responsibility to seek help from teachers to improve my grades._____
  1. I will actively participate in class by being prepared; listening attentively; offering relevant comments; posing insightful questions; taking notes; and keeping my materials organized.______
  1. I will work diligently to improve my writing by organizing my ideas; applying proofreading and editing skills; rewriting; and collaborating with peers. I must show improvement over time.______
  1. I will ask for assistance outside the class period. This includes making sure I take advantage of tutoring hours that are available.______
  1. I will submit quality work in a timely fashion as outlined in the EDHS Grading Policy. (cumulative for Pre-Diploma and Diploma classes) and abide by the IB Review Board (IBRB) Process._____
  1. I will manifest the highest degree of academic and personal integrity. I understand that the following will result in immediate removal from the PIB/IB program: cheating, a level 3 or 4 referral, failure to meet the contact hours (Higher level 240/Standard level 150) required by the International Baccalaureate Program, Loss of Credit.______
  1. I will try to schedule medical and dental appointments outside the school day and plan trips for recreation during school holidays and intersession when possible to avoid losing contact hours and provide appropriate documentation.______
  1. I will remain in the program unless released by recommendation of the IB Review Board. If I feel that I cannot continue in the DP or want to change my courses, I must present my case to the IBRB. I understand that continuance in the program is determined by my progress and attitude. _____
  1. I will submit to removal from the Pre-Diploma/Diploma program and return to my home campus for failure to pass any part of the EOC tests or obtain credit in a class.____
  1. I understand that if I do not meet the standards and requirements of the Pre-Diploma/Diploma program I will be asked to withdraw from the program in order to enroll in a course of studies which better suits my needs and level of performance._____
