This intensive 4-days workshop will provide participants with an introduction to social neuroscience. Invited lecturers will give an overview of the current state of theory and research findings in EEG and fMRI research on social cognition. The workshop will be in the form of lectures and demonstrations, with ample time for question-answer sessions.

Arrival is on Monday in the afternoon/evening. Participants are encouraged to attend the symposium on the social brain on Monday 14 November 2011 in Brussels, and then move to Ghent for the workshop.

How to get to Ghent?

·  From the Brussels airport (railway station) to Brussels:

Take the underground train station and take any train in the direction of Brussels (North, Central or Midi) – 20 minutes

·  From the railway station in Brussels to Ghent:

Take a train to Ghent (direction Oostende, Knokke or BlankenBerghe) – 30 minutes from Brussels Midi
Do NOT take the regional train that mentions AALST/ALOST because that is a stop train making your journey much longer.

·  From the railway station in Ghent to Monasterium

The hotel can be reached from the Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station by tram. The tram stops are in front of you or on your far left when leaving the front entrance of the station.

You can take tram 1 direction Evergem (in red). Exit at tram stop "De Kouter" and continue this street. At the next intersection with the "Volderstraat", turn left, cross the bridge over the water and enter the third street on your right. This is the "Oude Houtlei". Hotel Monasterium PoortAckere is a little bit further on your left.

If you are heavily loaded, you can take tram 21 or 22 direction Melle / Gentbrugge (in yellow), and take the stop at the "Oude Houtlei" (on your left). Notice: because of construction works, tram 21/22 is interrupted)
