EAGALA Business Development Workshop: Enhance Your Business and Team
Hosting Guidelines and Agreement
This workshop sponsored and provided by EAGALA is designed to support EAGALA members in building successful businesses and teams. We can also look at tailoring a workshop to meet your group’s needs.
Thank you for your interest in hosting the EAGALA Business Development Workshop. The training is 3 days, with the option for attendees to pick attending one day, two days, or all three days. There is a discount when attending all 3 days. This workshop qualifies for EAGALA continuing education hours for certification renewal (7 hours per day). We recommend it is hosted by an EAGALA Networking Group.
Agenda Overview (Note: a mixture of classroom and arena EAL time is incorporated in each day)
DAY ONE – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm - Enhance Your EAGALA Model Business
If you are starting up a new EAGALA Model business, desire to re-focus or seek to take your existing business to the next level, this training provides you with the tools you seek! Join us for a fast-paced, information filled day that also incorporates the horses to enhance learning:
· What does it take to run one’s own business
· What business structure is the best for your vision
· Action Planning
Some of the tools to be provided are available in the EAGALA Business Development Guide and have also been presented at pre-conference business training sessions. However, this is an opportunity to take such learnings to a deeper and renewed level.
DAY TWO – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm - Strategic Partnerships: The foundation for business success
Most successful EAGALA businesses attribute their financial success to strategic partnerships. Learn about the depth and breadth that strategic partnerships provide to enhance your business, how to step into strategic partnerships and close the deal, and how to manage and maintain these partnerships for business sustainability. A fast paced, information filled day that incorporates the horses.
DAY THREE – 9:00 am to 4:30 pm - Team Dynamics
Learn the principles behind team dynamics and how to become a higher functioning EAGALA Model facilitation team. Then, step into the arena to put into practice these principles.
Pricing
$150/day/person. If signing up for all 3 days, there is a $50 discount.
Hosting Requirements
1. Certification
- Attendees do not need to be EAGALA trained or certified to attend. The workshop is open to anyone who wishes to learn more about the business topics being presented.
2. Minimum Attendance
- You must have a minimum of 10 people/day who will attend the training. The maximum is 20. The training may be cancelled if the minimum is not met within 3 weeks of the scheduled training.
3. Facility
- Provide a facility. The preference is a covered arena, but may be out-door if negotiated with the EAGALA Program Director.
- The facility needs to have an arena with fencing as the horses run free during our activities. Suggested size is 80' x 100' or larger.
- An area for classroom work (next to the arena) is preferred but not required.
- The facility must be provided free of charge – EAGALA will not pay facility fees for this sponsored workshop.
4. Horses
- Provide 4-6 healthy, sound horses or ponies (donkeys and mules welcome) that can be turned out in the arena together.
5. Props and equipment
- Provide props in the arena such as jumps, poles, buckets, boards, tires, cones, swim noodles, etc. Anything you can find laying around that is safe.
- Provide a flip chart with stand and markers.
6. Chairs and Seating
- Provide enough chairs for participants to sit. We require folding chairs with backs (not bleachers).
- If outdoors, please provide some shady areas by or in the arena.
7. Bathrooms
- Provide bathrooms/outhouses with toilet tissue and place to wash hands (approx. 1 toilet per 12 people is required).
8. Tables
- Area/tables for set up of drinks/snacks and catered lunches.
- 2 tables for EAGALA merchandise and registration
- Tables need to be clean and/or table cloths provided
9. Logistics
- Logistical information must be provided to EAGALA at the time this agreement is signed.
10. Meals and refreshments
- Lunches are to be provided at the facility. Prefer varied options each day with quality in mind. Quality sandwich/ soup shops are a good option.
- Hosts will be informed of number of attendees who indicate special food needs and will need to best meet these special needs (i.e. vegetarian and gluten free are most common).
- Refreshments may include fruit, pastries, and snack-type food such as chips, cookies, candies and vegetables.
- Provide drinks including coffee/tea (a priority to be ready before start time), water (bottles of water – plan on 3 per person/day), and various soda and drink options.
Reimbursements
EAGALA will only reimburse the following expenses (host must submit an invoice to EAGALA for reimbursement with accompanying receipts):
· Meals and refreshments – reimbursement of actual costs of the refreshments/catering submitted with receipts up to $16/day/person maximum.
