1. Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment (22:12-20; Jn. 7:24).

2. It is folly and shame to give answer before hearing the truth (22:12-20; Prov. 18:13; Jn. 7:51).

3. Zeal without knowledge is dangerous and can lead to needless problems (22:12-20; Rom. 10:2; Phil. 3:6).

4. Avoid “evil surmising” (22:12-20; Acts 16:27; 21:20,29; 1 Cor. 13:6-7; 1 Tim. 6:4).

5. Merely being labeled as a wrong-doer does not make it so (22:12-20; Mt. 11:18-19; Acts 26:24-25).

6. It is important to be zealous for the truth and accurate with the truth (22:12-20; Jude 3).
