It was agreed by the Committee that Councillor Chambers take the chair. Councillor Jackson left the room at 7.40pm.
Mr Fulton of 2 Kirkdale Road, Harpenden, spoke against the application.
EXPRESS CONCERN THAT THE PROPOSED CHANGE OF USE FROM CLASS B1 (OFFICE USE) TO CLASS SUI GENERIS (TAXI OFFICE) WOULD RESULT IN AN ADVERSE INCREASE IN TRAFFIC GENERATION LEADING TO LOSS OF AMENITY AND ADDITIONAL NOISE AND DISTURBANCE AFFECTING THE RESIDENTS OF KIRKDALE ROAD AND IMPACTING ON ROAD SAFETY IN THIS RESIDENTIAL ROAD. CONCERNS WERE ALSO EXPRESSED REGARDING THE PROPOSED 2.5M
AERIAL AND THE DETRIMENTAL EFFECT THAT THIS WOULD HAVE ON THE HARPENDEN CONSERVATION AREA, THE STREET SCENE AND THE AMENITY OF NEIGHBOURING PROPERTIES. POLICIES 24, 34 (i), (ii), (iii), 72 (v), 79 (i), (ii), AND 85 (i) (c) OF THE DISTRICT PLAN REFER.
