ACOC
ACOC is requesting emergency funding for a trip to a corn maze. The group was recently informed about the event and several members expressed interest. The committee can only emergency allocate up to $200, so that is the most they will be able to contribute.

7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.

Men’s Rugby
Men’s rugby did not submit a budget last semester so they are requesting items through discretionary. They are asking for $500 extra for the coach because they have increased practice time to five times per week rather than the previous three. They are requesting new uniforms because they currently have enough for one half of the team. They had submitted a request for uniforms the previous year, and the money had been allocated, but they did not spend the money. The uniforms they plan to buy this semester are made of a more durable fabric than those previous, so the club hopes that they will last longer. The committee agrees that as long as the uniforms are a good investment and there are no more requests for uniforms in the near future, buying the better fabric is a good idea. Rugby is also requesting referees and trainers, and the request has increased because of new requirements stating that referees and trainers are needed for both A and B side games.
There is a motion to fund in full. The vote results are:
7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.
ACSU
Is having a large event and has already received money from Study Abroad, the Black Studies Department, the Anthropology Department, UMass, African Studies, and Frost Library. In total the money they have received from outside sources totals $1850. However, they still require funding for food, which they think is integral to the event. In total, they are asking for $700 for food and $250 for flags. The flags are to be displayed at the event, and they wish to have all 53 African countries represented at the event, for about $4 per flag. After the event they will either keep the flags or donate them to the Multicultural Center. The flags cannot be given away or sold. This is the first of this type of event that ACSU is hosting, so they will calculate the amount of food needed and adjust it for future years if necessary.
There is motion to fund in full. The vote results are:
7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.
Pre-Business
Pre-Business did not submit a formal request so the committee will hear their request and then vote on whether to consider it. Pre-Business is requesting $350 for a conference at MIT. Homeless Connect
Homeless Connect is requesting items for Casino Night. The event is one of the more popular at Amherst and traditionally has had high attendance levels, and is a good fundraiser for charity groups. As the ASS is funding this event, there is no entrance fee but the group is allowed to have a suggested donation. They have already applied to SCEF for funds. The items being requested are similar to the ones requested in years past. There is debate over whether the wristbands should be funded, as they will not stay with the group. However, their purpose, to distinguish between over-21s and under-21s for the champagne room, is critical to the event. The group cannot, however, request funding for the bags to hold chips from the ASS because they are gambling related. There is a motion to fund $1880. The vote results are:
7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.
Change for Change
Change for Change is requesting their budget through a discretionary request as it was rejected in the previous year. Change for Change intends to have a greater presence on campus this year, and want to increase the amount of collections to four per year. As they had too many change cups last year, they are requesting less this year, and are going to ensure that they are all distributed. If they have any more requests, they are asked to apply to SCEF as well. They also add a request for $9 publicity. There is a motion to fund $644. The vote results are:
7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.

Along with the supplies to build the wall, they also require educational posters, which will contain information about the wall, maps, poems, and other relevant information. They are also requesting ID cards which will be distributed to all students and then be used to get through the wall. This is similar to the situation that the event is focused on in Palestine. They are not yet certain about whether they want the uniforms, so they will request the funding for them but roll it back if it is not used. Publicity is added to the request. There is a motion to fund $647. Vote results are:
7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.

7 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstain.
