GUS KADERKA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The family of Gus Kaderka has established this scholarship in his memory to provide financial assistance to a graduating senior pursuing education or training beyond high school. The scholarship is open to all qualified candidates without regard to gender, religion, race, sexual orientation or political affiliation. The scholarship will be awarded to one or more candidates based on successful scholarship application. Proof of admission and registration to an accredited college, university or technical school will be required to receive the award.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1.  Be a graduating senior

2.  Have been accepted to and plan to enroll as a full-time student in a 2 or 4 year community college, university or technical school

3.  Complete this application and return it to the high school counselor or send it by April 15, 2009 to Gus Kaderka Memorial Scholarship

ESSAY

On a separate sheet (between 1-1 ½ pages, 12 pt font, double spaced) essay on one of the following topics:

1.  The importance of education and your definition of “work ethic”.

2.  Identify and explain who has been the most influential person in your life (example: parent or grandparent, pastor, neighbor, etc. and you do not have to use real name).

3.  Identify your planned course of study, what you hope to do with that major, and where you see yourself in 10 years because of your course of study.
