Hunter Trials Schedule and Entry 2016

Class 1:45cm (max)Entry fee £20.00

There will be “L”(learner) alternatives.

In this class appropriate help is allowed . The helper may guide the pony between obstacles if (inter alia) it is napping or helper thinks it may bolt, but must not be holding a lead rein or the bridle over obstacles. Helper may give verbal advice.

Class 2:60cm (max)Entry fee £25.00

In this class, only verbal advice is allowed by the helper.

Class 3:75cm (max)Entry fee £25.00

There will be “L” (learner) alternatives

No outside help is allowed in accordance with The Pony Club Eventing rules 2016.

JUDGING: The least penalties plus the nearest to the Optimum Time

within the timed section, will determine results.

CROSS COUNTRY SCHOOLING ROUNDS:Entry fee £15.00

ENTRIES ON THE DAY.

Time permitting, we will allow approximately half an hour at the end of each class for some competitors to go round the Cross Country course again. This will not be judged although competitors may be requested to move onto the next obstacle at the discretion of the jump judge. This round is aimed to give additional experience to the rider and/or pony. Ponies may not go round the Cross Country course more than twice.

  • Please bring a £10 deposit for your number bib.
  • Hats must be PC tagged and checked by the Secretary on collection of number bib.
  • Please report to the Tack Check Steward, at least 15 minutes before your time.
  • Please note that between the horsebox parking and the start of the Cross Country course riders will have to cross a country lane, a bridle path and a footpath.

Therefore competitorsmust be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a Pony Club Steward there and signs alerting the public of the event.

RULES and CONDITIONS of ENTRY

  1. This event will be run and judged in accordance with “The Pony Club Eventing Rules 2016”

and the Hunter Trials section of the Pony Club “Eventing Organiser’s Handbook - 8th Edition”.

HOWEVER:

IN CLASS 1: 45 cm:

Competitors are NOT automatically eliminated after three refusals at one obstacle or four refusals around the course, but they should make way for any following horses, and may be required to move onto the next obstacle or retire from the course at the discretion of the Cross Country Steward or Jump Judge.

IN CLASS 2: 60cm:

Competitors are eliminated after three refusals at the same obstacle or four refusals around the course, but may continue around the course making way for any following horses, and may be required to move onto the next obstacleor retireat the discretion of the Cross Country Steward or Jump Judge.

IN CLASS 3: 75cm:

Competitors are eliminated after three refusals at the same obstacle or four refusals around the course, but may continue around the course making way for any following horses, and may be required to move onto the next obstacle or retire at the discretion of the Cross Country Steward or Jump Judge.

2.The decisions of the Judges, Organisers and The Official Steward are final. Any objections or complaints regarding any matter of any nature whatsoever must be submitted in writing to the Official Steward at the Secretary’s office with a £10 fee within 15 minutes of the incident, judgement or release of scores or score sheets.

3.All non-Vine Entry Forms should be signed by your Branch DC or Secretary, or Centre Proprietor. Alternatively, an email may be sent from your DC or Secretary,or Centre Proprietor to the Entries Secretary confirming your Pony Club membership.

4.Correct riding attire must be worn. Hard hats adhering to current Pony Club rules must be worn, tagged and fastened when mounted. Body protectors, meeting current Pony Club standards, and medical armbands are compulsory. If you have a skeleton key, a spare must be left with the secretary. Timing devices are forbidden. No head cams are allowed. No earrings/piercings or jewellery to be worn. Pony Club members may only use spurs with written permission from their DC or Centre Proprietor.

5.Ponies may not go round the Cross Country course more than twice. No competitor may enter more than two ponies without the permission of the organisers. No stallions will be allowed to attend or compete at this event.

6.Withdrawals will be refunded only on production of a Medical or Veterinary certificate within 14 days of the event date, or notification in writing received by the Entries Secretary BEFORE Monday 28th March 2016.

A £5 administration fee will be deducted. There will be no refunds after the times have been posted.

7.The organisers retain the right to refuse entry at their discretion without stating a reason, and to alter, amend or cancel any part of the competition.

8.The final results will be posted in the Secretary’s barn AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after the class has finished.

Prize Giving will be approximately 15 minutes later. Please make every effort to stay for Prize Giving. If you are unable to stay and require rosettes to be mailed, you should leave your address and £2 at the secretary’s desk.

9.If the event is cancelled for any reason, every effort will be made to send an email to each individual to notify them. A decision will be made and emailed to you no later than midday on the Saturday prior to the event. The decision will also be posted on the branch website. Please do not telephone. If the event is cancelled, entry fees will be refunded less the sum of £5 per entry to cover administration.

10.Cruelty to ponies, misuse of whips or spurs, unseemly or aggressive behaviour, or blatant bad language by riders, parents/guardians, trainers or supporters, may incur elimination or disqualification.

11.The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.

12.Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of the event nor The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or landowner, his tenant(s), his contractors or his licensee accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars their contents and accessories or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

13.All non Pony Club competitors are not covered by The PC insurance and must have their own third party cover. The Vine Branch of The PC and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non Members and their insurance will not cover you.
