Ingham GSRP Advisory Council Meeting

  1. Welcome and Introductions
  1. IISD Updates
  • Subcontract Agreements-Individual Subcontract agreements were distributed and will also be e-mailed to Director’s on 9/16. Budget section has been re-worded for 14-15, all other sections remain the same.
  • Transportation Funds Process-The process to utilize transportation funds was explained and provided in writing. An electronic version will go out to finance representatives and Director’s on 9/16. Transportation budgets will be due on 9/26.
  • Budget and Grant Report Timelines-The timeline for submission of grant requirements was provided as will be attached to the minutes.
  • Cross County Enrollment Procedure-The process for a program to notify the ISD if they have a child applying to an Ingham program from another ISD was described and is attached to the minutes.
  • Joint Application Updates and Coding Procedures-Programs were reminded of the coding process for Inghampreschool.org (attached) and the importance of checking students that are enrolled is essential now, so we can get a count of the number of kids that might still be waiting for a program.
  • Implementation Manual Revision-The implementation manual has been revised. Director’s received an updated copy today and classrooms will each be receiving an updated copy in the coming week.
  • School Readiness Advisory-Michelle Nicholson presented the group with the purpose of the School Readiness advisory from the Great Start Collaborative Perspective and Corrie Mervyn discussed the role of GSRP representatives on the School Readiness advisory. An initial meeting has been set for September 30th at 4:15 at the MSU Child Development Laboratories-East Lansing to begin planning for the group in relationship to GSRP, 32P requirements and the Ingham GSC Strategic Plan.
  1. Early Childhood Specialist Updates
  2. Introductions-IISD has added 2 new Early Childhood Specialists to the group, Kim Fiebernitz and Megan Chumbley. Jen McCaffrey and Benjamin Hughes are returning ECS’ for IISD. In addition, Julie Brower, Jane Bobay and Lisa Foster will be supporting GSRP programs at Early LCC, MSU and Lansing.
  3. Professional Development Opportunities-ECS’ presented the 14-15 Professional Development Opportunities (attached).

  2. Family Learning Connection-Corrie Mervyn presented a new website Ingham ISD is unrolling, promotional materials were delivered to all programs to send home with families.
