Dumpster will be supplied for interior and scrap from your derby cars – PLEASE USE IT!!
Do not bringhousehold scrap from home.
Don’t jeopardize your registration in the next event.
Police officers will be on grounds – there is zero tolerance for use of alcohol or drugs.
Reckless driving in the pit area will not be tolerated.
RULES OF BRIGDEN FAIR DEMOLITION DERBY 2016
DRIVER and TRACK RULES
- Drivers MUST have a valid/non suspended driver’s license, minimum of G1, to be shown at REGISTRATION.
- Each driver must have an entry form made out completely and all drivers and pit crew must sign the liability waiver.
- The Association reserves the right to approve or reject any entries.
- Only owners, drivers, mechanics who have signed the liability waiver release will be permitted in the pit area or in the demo area.
- Children are the responsibility of their parent/guardian at all times. No children allowed in the pit area after 12:30 pm.
- Any driver or pit crew not obeying the rules will cause his car to be disqualified.
- The driver is responsible for the actions of his pit crew and anyone connected with his entry.
- The use of alcoholic beverages or drugs before or during the show by the driver or pit crew will disqualify the car’s entry. Driver and crew will be removed from the grounds.
- All drivers must obey the flagman and officials. Know what the flags mean.
- RED FLAG------STOP
- BLACK FLAG------DISQUALIFIED
- GREEN FLAG------GO
- The Association will not be held responsible for any cars, parts or personal property before, during or after the show. All cars must be stripped down before entering grounds. All parts removed from demo car must be placed in the dumpster provided
- The decisions of the officials in any and all matters concerning the demolition are final.
- All the drivers must attend the drivers meeting prior to the derby.
- Safety belts and street approved helmets are mandatory. All cars and drivers must be equipped with the proper safety equipment such as helmets, seatbelts and goggles or shield. All drivers must wear acceptable attire. No shorts, tank tops or short sleeves. Long sleeves or coveralls and work boots are recommended.
- No hitting the driver’s door deliberately. This may lead to disqualification.
- You must stay in your car. Do not leave car unless you are told to do so by an official and the red flag has been displayed. Leaving your car during the heat gets you disqualified.
- In the event of a roll-over, stay off the track. Pit crews may not assist a car that has been rolled over or has left the driving area during the heat.
- If a driver does not hit another live car within 2 minute time limit, they will be disqualified.
- Playing possum or sandbagging will get you disqualified.
- Teaming up will get you disqualified.
- Any car visibly leaking gas will be disqualified.
- One MAJOR fire and you are out.
- A heat winner MUST drive the same car in the MAIN FEATURE that they won with in his heat.
- At the start of the heat you are to hit the car across from you first only. If there is no car across from you, you are to backup with the other cars (hitting no one). Sitting back and hitting your neighbour first will get you disqualified.
- Pits are open at 9:00 a.m.
- NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS IN THE PIT AREA.
- There will be absolutely NO WHINING tolerated. JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL!!
- Decisions made at drivers meeting overrule all other rules and are final.
- Any of the final three (3) cars in any heat will be pulled apart if become locked together, only amongst themselves.
- The car winning the final is subject to another inspection.
- Any car/truck deemed not rules of “Poor Man” will be moved up a class.

Car 4 – 6 ‘Poor Man’s Class’
Entry Fee - $50.00
- All Flammable materials / Glass / Airbags / and or trailer hitches must be removed. There is a dumpster on site for these things if required.
- Battery
- One battery must be moved to passenger side floor and securely fastened in a box.
- Following inspection it must be covered with a non-flammable material.
- Gas Tanks
- Stock tanks may be used, but must contain no more than 10 gallons of fuel and be secured in the back seat.
- May use a steel marine, custom steel tank or a racing fuel cell.
- All tanks must be covered with a non-flammable material after inspection.
- Fuel Lines / Electric Fuel Pump
- Must have a safety shut off on Driver’s side front window bar.
- Must run either steel or rubber fuel lines.
- Hood
- Must have a 12”opening cut into the hood, bracing does not need to be cut thru.
- Hood must remain open for official’s inspection.
- Following the inspection hood must be fastened down.
- Trunks
- Must be fastened down.
- Bumper - Must be stock – No Welding
- Doors
- To be fastened shut with wire, chain or strap.
- Driver’s door to be painted white. White cars must be painted.
- Windshield Space
- Must have a single steel bar or chain - bolted or welded.
- Seat Bar or Strap must be put in around driver seat.
- Must be bolted or welded from door post to door post.
- It must be at the center of the driver’s back or a minimum of 12” from the top of the seat.
- No Welding on car of any kind except for the seat bar and or window bar.
- All tires Must be Stock

Truck ‘Poor Man’s Class’
Entry Fee - $50.00
- Truck may be ½ ton or ¾ ton
- If 4 wheel drive, the front drive shaft MUST be removed.
- All Flammable materials / Glass / Airbags / and or trailer hitches must be removed. There is a dumpster on site for these things if required.
- Battery
- One battery must be moved to passenger side floor and securely fastened in a box.
- Following inspection it must be covered with a non-flammable material.
- Gas Tanks
- Stock tanks may be used, but must contain no more than 10 gallons of fuel and be secured between frame rails at the front of the box
- All tanks must be covered with a non-flammable material after inspection.
- May use a steel marine, custom steel tank or a racing fuel cell.
- Fuel Lines / Electric Fuel Pump
- Must have a safety shut off on Driver’s side window bar.
- Must run either steel or rubber fuel lines.
- Hood
- Must have a 12”opening cut into the hood, bracing does not need to be cut thru.
- Hood must remain open for official’s inspection.
- Following the inspection hood must be fastened down.

4 – 6 Cylinder Car ‘Pro Man’
Entry Fee - $60.00
- Outside of Car
- No tubing , round or square on the outside of the car
- Seat Bar is a MUST.
- Doors
- Driver’s door to be painted white. White cars must be painted another colour.
- Flammable Materials
- Seats & trim - All must be removed from the vehicle except driver’s seat and passenger seat.
- Glass/ Airbags
- All windows, mirrors, airbags & trim must be removed prior to inspection.
- Trailer Hitches
- Must be removed and all sharp edges must be hammered down prior to inspection.
- Doors & Numbers- DRIVERS DOOR ONLY MUST BE PAINTED WHITE with number.
- If the vehicle is white the driver’s door must be out lined in Black or Bright color to make it stand out.
- Battery - One battery only.
- Must be moved to passenger side floor and securely fastened in a box/ container clear of all fuel sources.
- Following inspection it must be covered with a nonflammable shield.
- Gas Tanks
- Stock tanks may be used, but must contain no more than 10 gallons of fuel and be secured in the back seat.
- May use a steel marine, custom steel tank or a racing fuel cell.
- All tanks must be covered with a non-flammable material after inspection.
- Gas Tank Protectors
- Gas tank protectors are allowed, but must be reasonably centered and secured to the post to post seat bar only
- Cannot be bolted to floor or attached to the rear sill.
- Must be a minimum of 4” from the rear sill or sheet metal and cannot be wider than 26”.
- Hood
- Must have a 12”opening cut into the hood, bracing does not need to be cut thru.
- Hood must remain open for official’s inspection.
- Following the inspection hood must be fastened down.
- You may add 2-3/4” max threaded rod through your rad support with a max 3” washer. Threaded rod must not be attached to or go through frame. Rad support can be wired to bumper in 4 places.
- Trunks/Tailgates
aMust remain in stock position. 12” square or round hole must be cut in top of trunk for inspection.
bTrunk lid may be wired, strapped or chained in 4 places.
14Doors
- To be fastened shut with wire, chain or strap.
- Driver’s door to be painted white. White cars must be painted.
15Windshield Space
- Must have a single steel bar or chain - bolted or welded.
16Seat Bar or Strap must be put in around driver seat.
- Must be bolted or welded from door post to door post.
- It must be at the center of the driver’s back or a minimum of 12” from the top of the seat.
17Rollbar/Dash Bar
- Dash bars are allowed if dash has been removed maximum 4” outside diameter and ¼” wall with a max 5” plate on either end. This must be bolted or welded in.
- Halo bars are permitted but must be welded or bolted to door posts with a max 5” plate on either side or two 3/4” max threaded rod or bolts through floor one per side with a max 3” pate on bottom of car on each side.
- Halo bars must be bolted to roof in 2 spots.
- Dash bar cannot be connected to to seat bar, roll bar/ halo bar or window bars.
18Bracing – Steel Plate for Driver’s Door Only
- No more that 3” past Driver Door edges
19Bumper - Stock bumpers to be used - may be changed among eligible models
- NO Oversized bumpers.
- No loading of bumpers, holes may be required for inspection.
- Bumpers cannot be seam welded, and ends may not be cut (ends can be bent in).
- Both front and rear bumpers may be welded to brackets to make them mountable to stock car locations (maximum 2”x2” square tubing no more than 4” long)
- Must be bolted to car only
20Frames - No welding of frames.
21Bodymounts – must be Stock
22Tires - All tires must be Stock

- Bumper – Must look like a bumperand covered with bumper skin.
- No tubing, round or square I beams to be used a bumpers
- Outside of Car
- No tubing , round or square on the outside of the care
- Seat Bar is a MUST.

- Driver’s door to be painted white. White trucks must be painted another colour.
- Battery
- One battery must be moved to passenger side floor and securely fastened in a box.
- Following inspection it must be covered with a non-flammable material.

- Engine & tranny protectors are NOT allowed
- MUST be a 5 bolt rear end
- Distributer protectors allowed
- Bumper
- No loaded bumpers
- Must be bolted or welded on and not more than 6” inside of frame.
- Outside of Car
- No adding of extra Body MetalSeat
- Seat / Dash Bars are a MUST.
- Bar may be up to 4” in diameter and ¼” wall with a max 5” plate on either end.
- Dash bars are allowed if dash has been removed maximum 4” outside diameter and ¼” wall with a max 5” plate on either end.
- This must be bolted or welded in.
- Dash bar cannot be connected to the seat bar, roll bar/ halo bar or window bars.
- Seat Bar to be in Middle of back of seat
- Seat Bar must be either welded or bolted in.
- Dash Bar MUST NOT be connected to the Seat Bar
- Halo Bar
- Halo bars are permitted but must be welded or bolted to door posts with a max 5” plate on either side or two 3/4” max threaded rod or bolts through floor one per side with a max 3” pate on bottom of car on each side.
- Halo bars must be bolted to roof in 2 spots.
- Doors
- Driver’s door to be painted white. White cars must be painted another colour.
- Outside of car may have 12”x50”x¼” max steel plate applied to driver door ONLY
- MUST be EITHER - Bolted in 6 locations (max ½” through bolts). Flat bar only, no angle iron or C-channel.
- Or Attached with 1” of weld every 12”
- Battery
- One battery must be moved to passenger side floor and securely fastened in a box.
- Following inspection it must be covered with a non-flammable material.
- Gas Tanks
- Stock tanks must be removed.
