Prospecting Licences for hydrocarbons - Application Form
Applications for prospecting licences for hydrocarbons and any supplementary material may be submitted to MLSA by letter, by email or by delivery at the address above. An application for a prospecting licence should be submitted in due time for processing and well before application of any planned activities (fieldwork, excursions etc.).
The standard terms for prospecting licences for hydrocarbons (non-exclusive) are stated in MLSA's publication “Standard terms for prospecting licences – Hydrocarbons”(March 2009). Fees will be invoiced according to the standard terms.
An application for planned activities (fieldwork, excursions etc.) under the granted licence has to be received by MLSA2 months before the planned activity – see “Guidelines for submitting application for field activities under Prospecting licences for hydrocarbons” (January 2004) under “Fieldwork; Application and Reporting”.
Field activities must comply with the “Rules for field work and reporting regarding mineral resources in Greenland (November 2000)”. Please note, that there are certain regulations for field activities for specific areas and periods, a field report (standard form) must be send to MLSA no later than 1 month after the termination of field activity, and a geological report must be sent to MLSA no later than April 1st , in the year after the field activity.
Offshore exploration activities must comply with the “Guidelines for applications, execution and reporting of offshore hydrocarbon exploration activities (excluding drilling) in Greenland” (December 2011).
