Alaskan adventurer, Robert Bogucki, set off on his desert trek four weeks ago but his bicycle, backpack and some food were found abandoned at a roadhouse south of Broome 11 days ago.
Police in Western Australia say they won't press charges against Alaskan adventurer, Robert Bogucki, even though they've condemned his trek as reckless and dangerous. Alive, exhausted, and much thinner than at the start of his trek, Robert bogucki is this morning recuperating in Broome Hospital after more than a month in the Great Sandy Desert.
The search, involving both Australian and American personnel, has been long and intense. The search teams have combed some of the most inhospitable terrain in the country. And those involved can now only marvel at Mr Bogucki's stamina and survival skills.
A specialist United States response team has arrived in Western Australia to search for a compatriot who's lost in the desert now for almost a month.. They'll be looking for Alaskan firefighter, RobertBogucki, who's been missing in the Great Sandy Desert.
After nearly six weeks lost in the Great Sandy Desert, Alaskan firefighter Robert Bogucki was finally found this morning walking along a dry creek bed in the Edgar Ranges, east of Broome.
So how did he survive? Despite running out of water and food, Mr Bogucki says he wasn't ready to give up and never believed he would die in the desert.
