Responsibilities:
· Conduct pre-operational safety checks on the mobile harbour crane in accordance with established policies and procedures and report defects:
- Checking the trolley runway and crane ropes
- Checking the brakes used in movements of translation and the lifting mechanism
- Checking the triggering system of the crane´s jib and identify possible obstructions
- Checking all limiting devices and the structural resistance of the crane in order to identify and report possible cracks
- Checking the Maintenance log on a daily basis
· Loading/Unloading technical equipment and participating in ship construction and repair
· Performing ship loading or unloading and arranging loads according to instructions given by the planner
· Unloading the remaining iron resulted from ship section building on the quay and loading it into ships
· Unloading ship sections and participating in their disassembly
· Communicating and coordinating with authorized riggers during loading/unloading operations and operating the crane in a smoothly controlled and safe manner
· Participating in regular maintenance checks on the assigned crane and associated equipment used in loading and unloading activities to ensure that the crane is maintained in an optimum and safe working condition at all times.
· Writing specifications in the Maintenance log regarding crane functionality as well as malfunctions/repairs
· Respecting safety regulations and signal codes
· Stop manoeuvres in cases of severe weather conditions or in case riggers violate safety regulations
· Shutting down crane and securing the machine properly when it is unattended.
