Updated Trim Styles Provide New Options for Upscale Showers
North Olmsted, Ohio … Savvy consumers want more from their showers today, requesting luxuries such as handheld showerheads, body sprays and rainshowers. Moen Incorporated developed the perfect solution, offering updated, consumer-preferred trim for its Moentrol® pressure-balancing volume control valves to create an affordable and luxurious vertical spa experience.
Moentrol pressure-balancing volume control valves deliver the water coverage, force and flow that consumers desire. The three- function shower valve allows for two unique functions and one shared function. So now consumers can choose to have both a showerhead and a handshower or a showerhead and body sprays running at the same time for a drenching experience.
“Research has shown that consumers want more functionality to create a robust, spa-like experience,” said Mike Reffner, Moen senior product manager. “The Moentrol shower system gives the flexibility to provide an easy-to-install and reasonably priced vertical spa option.”
In addition to functionality, the Moentrol valve offers a generous flow rate. For added convenience, Moentrol valves feature temperature memory, meaning the dial stays in the same temperature position from the last use and returns to that temperature within a few seconds. For added comfort, the valve maintains consistent pressure throughout the shower so users will never experience “shower shock,” the hot or cold surge in temperature caused by dishwashers running or a toilet flushing.
For builders and service plumbers, the Moentrol valve shower system utilizes ½-inch plumbing for easier installation than thermostatic valve vertical spa systems.
To coordinate and complement most bathroom décors, Moentrol trim (which is sold separately from the valve) is available on Moen’s Icon™, Kingsley™, Monticello® and Vestige™ bathroom collections. The updated trim design features consumer-preferred, ADA-compliant lever handles that coordinate with each of the bathroom suites. Finishes are Chrome, LifeShine® Brushed Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze and Pewter.
