The motivational determinants in personal and professional development

Abstract

The path of the university career started almost twenty years ago revealed in a continuous and successful combination between the didactical plan, the applicative and publicistic dimension and broad research: this balance is still present, these plans being linked in a consistent and coherent system. The research profile which I internalized put in the center of epistemological construct the main element – the sistematic study and reflexive analyses – to get to the second plan the product of this research, the elements which add value at social level. At the third level analyse we get to the dimension of the integration of these results of the research in the dynamic of the society because the applicative aspect become an important base in the sustenability of a society. Analysing entire activity until present and the plans for future, we can observe a continuous balance between the psychology and educational sciences, with a permanent and successive focus on border zones of these sciences.

Raised from the wish of unifying my research until present, we will start from a relative simple idea – the early education of a personoriented towards specific personality directionwho give him eficiency, independence, well being, adequate communicational capacities; all these leads him/her to some carier options adequated to his/her personality profile, a career in consonance with personal characteristics, but which reflects also well-being and general satisfaction in life. It is about a dynamic enssembly, moderated from early age, by an adequate parenting oriented towards child necessities and combined with formal education, but also with vocational training and coaching – aspects reflected in the successful choises made at carier level.

I am proposing a relatively simple scheme which is integrating the concepts mentioned in this paper

There are always double intercorrelations in human development: a certain style of parenting, a certain standard of formal education lead us to a specific development– balanced or not – these options are realised according to variables put in the system.In consequinces we will have some motivational aspects (powerful or weak) oriented specially to one-two directions– cognitive, affective, social, control/power oriented etc; all these mediate and determined one type of career, some choises, which also determine well being or not, life satisfaction or not. The personal development at communicational and relational capacities, the adoptions of a philosophy regarding personal well being / life satisfaction, the development of selfconscience self-esteem or some specific personality profile oriented towards success will determined a more powerful motivation level toward a domain or another; the motivation from a certain domain can make grow the motivations in another area or the orientation to a career. These aspects become important in contemporaneity (which we put accent on at research level, but also shown in the social tendencies). The global society brings global challenges and the impact of the technologies on humans is important, so we should determine some characteristics in contact with an european career at least, not only one to a local/national level. The pressure of the future helps us to understand more the necessity of being adapted, need for flexibility, self-knowledge and self-control of own path of personal and professional career.
