The following components from Dr. Joyce Epstein’s model are included in the School Improvement Plan. The implementation is ongoing.
Parenting: Family Education Nights for Reading and Math, Budgeting workshop, Panda Nutrition Club (Parent training and child activity) Staff training on Parent Involvement (Parent Input) Reading in the community.
Communication: Home /School Compact, monthly calendar, monthly newsletter (Whole school and by Grade level) automated calls, Parent /Teacher/student Conferences, brochures, Panda Parent Meetings
Learning at Home: Homework help, home packets, lending library, home visitation, reading incentive program and online resources.
Volunteering: Volunteer Orientation/training, classroom help, FLOW mentoring, Gentlemen on a Mission, lunch mentoring and PTA committees.
