Business Systems Co-ordinator

This is an exciting new role that provides an opportunity to lead a challenging, strategic project in a growing organisation with the support of a university supervisor from Teesside Manufacturing Centre (TMC) in the School of Science and Engineering.

Company Background:

QA Weld Tech Ltd was founded over 30 years ago to supply welded components into the gas and oil industry. Since then the business has grown significantly and today applies advanced welding and fabrication techniques to provide effective solutions for clients primarily in the subsea oil and gas industry. The business utilises an extensive range of materials, processes and equipment to provide the optimum solution for Cladding and Inlay, WeldLinksTM, Pressure Vessels and Flow Bends and has developed over 500 fully approved welding procedures. A complete pipe work service is provided from design and procurement, through to fabrication and testing.

Role Requirements

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and improving the efficiency of the company’s current systems and processes. This will include the coordination and execution of the necessary activities involved in the development of the front-end of the ERP system,which went live in January 2013,and implementation of a Shop Floor Data Collection system. Anticipated outputs will enable the company to be more responsive to customer requirements, to have increased control over the production and be able to produce accurate management information. Ultimately, the company seeks an enthusiastic individual who wants to contribute to the company’s growth.

Specific tasks will include:

  1. To undertake an initial Induction and project initiation
  2. To undertake a business / industry review to ensure comprehensive understanding.
  3. To assist in removing some of the current “bottle-necks”
  4. To gain familiarisation with current ERP System to enable review and audit of processes and systems
  5. To develop standard operation procedures.
  6. Train staff
  7. To implement a culture change process
  8. To embed SFDC in the organisation.
  9. Document solution definition
  10. Carry out data migration, pilot testing and the preparation of required management reports using Crystal reports.
  11. Management of Go-Live process

Support:

The initial 12 months of this role will be supported by an academic supervisor from Teesside University, who will provide regular guidance and assistance throughout. There will also be some training budget available to support personal development requirements.
