NEW FOR FEBRUARY – LANGUAGE OF THE MONTH

Language of the month is a new way for us tocelebrate the different backgrounds of our pupils, help us encourage understanding of other cultures and give the children an opportunity to communicate in adifferent language. Each month we are going to focus on a different language. This month our language is Polish, and with the help of Julia from 3C we are all enjoying learning how to say some things in Polish. Cześć i miłego weekendu!

WORLD BOOK DAY, THURSDAY 2ND MARCH – BOOK SALE

As part of our World Book Day celebrations we will be holding a book sale in school. To help us with this we would like to ask for donations of good quality used books. They can range from Nursery age up to Year 6. Any books you would like to donate should be given to the class teacher from next week.

KNIT & KNATTER – AFTER SCHOOL YEAR 5 KNITTING CLUB

On Tuesday 28th February 3:15-4:15pm, Mrs Smith will be starting a knitting club for Year 5 pupils. Anyone who wishes to attend the club should complete a permission slip and return it to the school office. If anyone has any spare or unwanted wool or knitting needles that they could donate these would be greatly appreciated.

HEADLICE

An occurrence of head lice has been reported in school this week. I would like to remind you all how important it is to use the head lice comb on a weekly basis to ensure that your child’s hair remains free from lice. If all parents remember to do this we have a chance to keep outbreaks to a minimum. If live lice are found in your child’s hair all family members must have their hair checked. Could I also remind parents that once the live lice have been removed from your child’s head it is not necessary to keep them at home. Can we also ask that girls wear their hair up to minimise the risk transferring the lice. Many thanks for your cooperation.

SAINSBURY’S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS

From the 25th January you can receive Active Kids Vouchers for every £5 you spend in Sainsbury’s. Please donate your vouchers as we are collecting for our PE resources.
