Outline:
7:00-7:15: Arrival, BBG's will be lead to the Sukkah. Dessert will be provided.
7:15-7:22: Icebreakers/ Introduction. Participants will be welcomed to the program and introduced to what it will be covering. Then Icebreakers will take place, participants will be instructed to say their name and where they consider to be their home. They should write their answer down on the strip of paper that will be in front of them.

7:23-7:25: Explain how Sukkot is the “feast of the tabernacle” and how these structures were the homes of the Jews for 40 years.

7:25-7:35: Paper Chain Making, the connection of homes and BBG to Sukkot will be made. Participants will learn about Sukkot’s second meaning “Time of our Happiness”. The girls will attach the paper chain to the girl sitting to the right of them and as they attach it they will say one nice thing about that girl. By doing this activity the girls will be able to create a sense of home and sisterhood in the Sukkah and will also make it more festive looking, hence helping will sukkot’s second meaning.

7:35-7:50: This portion of the program will cover the “people” of the home, because without the people there cannot be any home.

©  Girls will be split up into 4 groups.

©  Each group will be a paper with an activity and discussion questions on one of the four species (Aarbat Hamineem). Each group will also be able to view one of the four species.

©  The four species will be connected to BBYO and the different types of people who are members of a chapter (i.e. a leader, follower, motivator, etc…)

©  Group members will present what they’ve learned in a creative way (i.e. haiku, skit, rap, song).

©  We will then discuss why each and every person is important to our chapter and how different types of people are vital to making a group successful.

7:50-8:10 : The Ooshpeizen During this portion of the program girls will learn about the seven role models of Sukkot and will be given a torah situation that will correlate with a BBG chapter issue. They will then use the torah portion as a way to solve the problem and then share with the group.

8:10-8:15: Our Second home, the Environment. This portion of the program will educate girls on the problems and dangers of household cleaning products and the problems that they can cause a person. This activity will take place in the form of a True/False game, in order to emphasize the impact of the issue. Participants will be split up into 4 groups. Each group will be given identical slips of paper and will be asked to decide whether the facts of the pieces of paper are true or false. ALL OF THE FACTS WILL BE TRUE. Participants will be asked to share their reactions upon finding this out.

8:15-8:30: The Lost Generation. Originally a YouTube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42E2fAWM6rA) this activity has been modified for use in a Sukkah. After hearing all of this negative information, this portion of the program is aimed at trying to inspire members to be a part of the solution and to realize that attitude affects the decisions that one will be able to make. Participants will each be given a copy of the poem. A volunteer will read the text normally. Then Talia will read the text backwards (hard to explain, but it’s really cool!). When read forwards the ideas are negative, when read backwards with the same words the ideas are positive. We will then have a discussion:

©  What message do you think this story is trying to send?

©  As B’nai Brith Girls, how does this message specifically pertain to us? Can you relate this to BBYO?

©  Are there any other reactions that anyone would like to share?

8:30-8:40: Participants will be informed about the Kid’s Safe Chemicals Act and will write letters to their congressional representatives urging them to support the act. Talia will give them to the organization that will be sending them in. Letters can be written in groups/ by themselves. Sample letters will be provided in order to help girls understand what the letter should be about.

8:40-8:50: Explain Wow GREEN organization and what they stand for. Then use the trial package to prove the products effectiveness by demonstrating the products (like on infomercials).

8:50 to 9:00: Wrap up Sukkot and the home by
