WELCOME TO THE
GYMNASTICS TEAM PROGRAM
Welcome to the Mojo Elite Gymnastics Competitive Team!
What sets Mojo Elite Sportz above the rest? Mojo Elite Sportz Center is known for its outstanding instruction and fun curriculum in preschool, recreational and competitive gymnastics.
Members of the Mojo Elite Sportz staff have personal and professional experience in national, collegiate, and international gymnastics. All Mojo Elite instructors are USAG Safety Certified. Mojo Elite Sportz regularly sends members of its staff around the country to attend conferences, clinics, and lectures with topics that range from providing exceptional customer service to the future and direction of gymnastics.
At Mojo Elite Sportz, the focus in not on winning, rather the process of developing champions in and out of the gym. The staff is able to do this by finding a quality within each child that makes him or her special and developing a unique bond with each gymnast. The staff provides a positive influence while helping each gymnast set and achieve their goals.
We know that your child’s safety and progress are important to you. They are important to us as well.
Gymnastics is a sport that requires many abilities: strength, concentration, co-ordination, self-discipline and perseverance. Your child may not start out with these abilities, but will acquire them through our program. These abilities will develop, as your child develops and will give your child his own individuality. Children develop individually and we progress them accordingly. We believe it is very important to learn each fundamental skill and to demonstrate competence at each level before moving on to more advanced skills.
Safety is a concern shared by all involved in our gymnastics program. Continuing education and certification of our instructors are an ongoing process and we pride ourselves on having an excellent safety record.
We enjoy assisting our students to build solid skills as well as self-confidence. Our primary goal is the all-around development and well-being of your child. We love gymnastics and pledge to do our best to encourage your child to do the best he or she can always and hope your child will get as much out of it as we have.
Mojo Team Statement
At Mojo Elite Sportz our goal is to promote every gymnast’s potential. We will provide a safe and positive environment to help everyone achieve their goals. Our team program is supported by our team families and the Mojo Elite Gymnastics coaches. Our coaches are caring and supportive in all aspects of gymnastics.
All of our team members will be expected to work out a minimum number of hours a week, based on their level. This helps keep all team members at appropriate skill level and fosters team camaraderie. Each team member will be evaluated by team coaches as to advancement to the next level. Scores and skill capability will also be taken into consideration.
Each gymnast will be required to maintain a healthy workout schedule as well as a healthy body and mind. All gymnasts will be required to keep up with their schoolwork and keep good grades and study habits. In order to keep a place on our team program, school is of the utmost priority. Failure to do so may result in removal from the team program.
Our team workouts are focused and demanding throughout the year, not just during competition season. Gymnasts are expected to regularly attend workouts unless arrangements have been made with the coach and alternative workout times or make ups have been arranged.
Coaches will make all decisions on workouts and competitions. The coaches are most aware of an athlete's preparedness and will make all decisions as to when the athlete is ready to compete. Competition readiness is generally determined by work out success and routine experience.
Gymnastics training can be the springboard to improved performance in other sports. Many gymnasts have succeeded in competitive diving, pole-vaulting, skateboarding, snowboarding, soccer, volleyball, triathlon, golf, and other activities that demand extreme body-awareness, agility, flexibility, explosive power, and strength.
Mojo Elite Gymnastics competitive gymnasts train 4 to 20 hours per week - year round. Our coaches know from their own experience as gymnasts what it is like to grow up in the gym. So they invest careful thought, creativity, and effort into making sure the training is balanced, safe, and fun!

COMPETITION EXPENSES FOR 2017-2018 GYMNASTICS TEAMS
The Difference between Tuition and Competition Fees
Please be aware of the important distinction between tuition and competition fees/expenses. Monthly tuition is paid to Mojo Elite Sportz and this revenue is used to pay expenses associated with your gymnasts’ daily training. Competition fees/expenses are used to pay expenses associated with competing (meet entry fees, coaches’ traveling expenses, etc.).
Season Assessment
All Mojo Elite Team Members contribute to the seasonal competition budget. This fee covers the coaches travel expenses and team competition registration fees. This fee is different for each level and is based upon the number of projected yearly competitions and the associated coaching costs for each. The assessment fee is not pro-rated or refunded for missed competitions. The seasonal assessment includes the entry fees of the athletes for the regularly scheduled competitions. There will be additional entry fees for those that qualify and choose to go to state, regional, or national competitions. Entry fees for competitions vary from $65-125 per event. The level of competition, the location and the nature of the competition (invitational, state championship, regional & national competition) are all factors in the hosts setting their entry fee. Entry fees are not pro-rated or refunded for missed competitions.

Team is year-round
The decision to join our team is a big one and reflects a significant year round family commitment.
Tuition is due regardless of attendance
Team tuition is calculated on a yearly basis and then divided by 12 to arrive at the monthly amount, which is due the first day of each month, regardless of attendance. It is important to make this next point clear - team members do not move onto and off the team based on illness, injury, vacations, camps, schedule conflicts, or the like; you are either on the team or off the team.
Pro-rating would cause tuition to be higher
Your monthly tuition would be higher if we had to take into account pro-rating tuition for team members. Just as your rent or mortgage payments are still due when you are away from home, your payment of team tuition is also due when your athlete is absent. Experience shows us that families unable to adapt to this line of reasoning are better advised to forgo the competitive team and remain in our class program.
Practice Additions/Cancellations
Inevitably, over the course of a year, there will be a few practice cancellations due to meet conflicts, holidays, or other team functions. We do our best to keep these at a minimum. Likewise, there will be occasions when additional practices may be conducted in an effort to prepare for a state championship or qualifying meet.
Team Rules & Information
Our gymnasts have been evaluated and accepted by the team coaches and placed in the appropriate level based on skill proficiency. Each gymnast is required to attend all workouts and to be on time. Dedication to the team schedule is imperative and will help in building good team work ethics and proficiency in required skills.
Please talk to your coach about questions you have related to training and competition. Your coaches have all been down the path that you are on. They can relate to your situation and they need to have your complete trust and confidence. Discuss progress and plans for your training and the next competitive season with your coach after class. This can take away frustration and false expectations.
Doing other sports
Many gymnasts enjoy other sports, however, gymnastics training at the upper levels (Level 5 and up) is physically demanding. It is very important for our coaches to know if you are involved in other sports so that they can safely manage your practice program. Our coaches can help you make the best decision about your schedule and level regarding other sports. Training to be a gymnast until the age of twelve will give the child the best physical and mental preparedness to excel at whatever sport they want to try later on.
Attitude
Team members and their parents must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Showing respect for the coaches, parents and other team members are absolutely essential character traits for a successful team. The gymnasts and their parents are encouraged to stay motivated through the year and always show support for the entire team. This will develop a bond among the members and often carries the gymnasts through the toughest workouts and other hardships. Accepting responsibility for one’s actions and maintaining an attitude of cooperation and willingness to work hard are obvious benefits for a successful season.
Workouts
Gymnasts are asked to work out exclusively with Mojo Elite Gymnastics. This is due to the fact that each coach has a different program and a certain way of coaching. A gymnast may acquire a fear of a certain "skill" if taught by a different coach with a different approach to teaching a specific skill. If the gymnast is going on extended vacation to another area/state, an exception can be made to have her workout at a reputable gym in the area. This is a safety issue and is in the best interest of the gymnast.
Gymnasts are required to wear proper workout clothing. A leotard, which fits properly, is the only acceptable clothing. Wearing any other type of clothing, runs the risk of injury.
